An interesting question is more yes you are not covered for AF but if the AF is the cause of some other condition, maybe a fall etc, than that is also not covered, depending on the medical report. Call them and discuss to be safe and sure. Most likely they will just want an extra to cover it, maybe not. But you will be covered by other eventualities.
You’ll need to check the policy to see the score on rental excess. some policies cover it and some don’t. Never been concerned about the level of cover for the United States with credit card insurance. Generally, the medical cover is unlimited and public liability can run into a million or more for your cover. ANZ covers you for 3 million for example.
Depends on the specific card. Have a read of the T&Cs. Amex have dropped rental excess from all but specific platinum cards it seems. For medical, I’d consider a seperate policy. Many to chose from, see AFF threads.
Oh yes. I see that particular AMEX card seems to cap medical at 2.5 million? Compared with ANZ for example that’s 20 million! (I figure if i need more than $20m hospital medical insurance i probably have more to worry about than paying the bill!!)

I had a friend who suffered a heart attach at Lima airport. She spent the next 2+ years in a coma in various Peruvian hospitals before passing away without regaining consciousness. The hospital and medical bills were astronomical.

I did comparisons recently too @clifford to find that two companies now require you to purchase TI within 48 hours of paying for your travel, to qualify for their cancellation cover.
We decided to carry the risk and just went with the basic travel insurance. I did not declare any pre-existing conditions. If I remember correctly there were 2 reasons that swayed us. We were staying in the UK where I would be covered by their NHS. I have been taking medication for a couple of years and my conditions have been stable.
