Thanks for the update, I am planning a couple of stays within that period so I am all good

I am wondering though, If you requalify for platinum again does virgin offer you another 6 months of hilton diamond again?

I believe it was a one-time offer (ie. first time you reach Platinum, although you probably get the offer again once you drop below Platinum and achieve it again (rather than just requalifying).)

Just recieved my Diamond card (a month after the request) and the card states valid to
2014. I'll bank on it actually being valid for 6 months as reported though. Not a big drama as I'll easily do 4 stays in the next few months (MEL this week, HKG, BKK and Hua Hin in the next month), but still confusing if you didn't look into it.

I've opted into IHG PC this morning. The website told me that someone from IHG would be in contact via email within 20 days to complete my membership. Does anyone know if it usually takes the full 20 days for them to get in contact? Reason I ask is that I am staying at an IHG property next weekend and wanted to make use of the membership. Alternatively, is there someone I can call to speed up the process? Thanks.

PC Plat is not of much benefit, most properties might leave you with a card and chocolate and thats it, I would have taken Hilton Diamond as the benefits are far more set in stone, of course if you have that already then not much point.

I don't stay at Hilton properties. Up until now 100% of my stays are at Accor properties. I'm staying at an IHG property next week and thought I would opt into the IHG PC offer.

I'd never syayed at Hilton until I got Diamond via DJ. I had 32 Hilton stays last year!

If the IHG stay is at a Holiday Inn, expect to receive nothing. Not sure what IC or CP will provide.

Going to stay at an IC mid year, I'm hoping for a free platinum promotion with IHG- they come around occasionally so I guess that's why it confers almost no benefits.

Free platinum or free Ambassador, Platinum is not applicable at ICs?
