Wonder what IT Pro's would say about adding ASA back on site being not possible, like we had em before why not now?.
"... absolutely ..."
"We have absolutely no plans to take them away."
"Woo-hoo!"
Cough... and absolutely no plans to put them back online... cough
Here is the lunch video QF WP promised where you can hear the news from the source!

With the some of the "deals" being struck on another thread, I think I can see why
What news would that be? That the new booking engine is a "success"?? With all its bugs and lack of transparency with various fare types? Launched apparently without any testing (remember the non functioning links missing business fares etc)?
News indeed.
No-one really believes the tripe about the new engine being able to accommodate MASAs, do they? You are a major corporation. You TELL the IT lot what you want. You don't just put your hand out and accept whatever slop the consultant passes out. Remember they have expunged all references to MASAs from the web site and many phone consultants are STILL ignorant of them. If Qantas was sincere in "Damn we really wanted MASAs on the web site, but just couldn't - but we still want to sell them", don't you think they would put a button or something in the booking engine "To book a MASA click here." ?? And the button would be a link that explained how to call, what to ask for, confirming that there is no fee etc etc.
But if there is anyone out there who believes that tripe handed out at the lunch, I have this great bridge in Sydney that I can sell to you, very cheap.

I love how everyone takes the above video at face value. She is just towing the company line and telling us what she is told to tell us.
I must say that it does seem implausible that the reason the ASA's are being withdrawn online is for IT reasons.
Knowing how large organisations work I can readily believe it. If they weren't included in the original scope of the new booking engine (for any reason - maybe they simply forgot to include them!) then adding the functionality in later could be a major undertaking (budgetarily, even if not technologically).
Well who really cares what the reason is, lets just keep booking them to show them that there is a demand for these...
Whilst I don't disagree I suspect it does open the door for the following message from QF.
I genuinely hope that QF keeps the MASA alive and my innate cynicism is proven wrong. I also ask again what can I do, as a customer, to help QF keep the MASA alive.
