The point being cove is there is still good value to be derived from QFF points just as there was before Any seat awards came about.

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

I still try for 4 cents value per QF point. Now mainly domestic but I have a BA First ride coming up next month.

I've not looked at it that way - more of a want to do it, so do it sort of approach.

I've recently blown all of my Air Canada Aeroplan points for a F trip SYD-ANC (Anchorage) - SYD. The AC scheme is said to be bad redemption value, but it works out at about 8 cents /mile. I know it's not directly comparable to the QF numbers due to cost of earn at least, but there you go.

Had my first flights on a MASA today, they've reflected as classic award bookings, so no points or SCs. Can't say I'm surprised. Looks like I'll be sending off an e-mail.

Was that in U class ?

As someone else said.....snatching defeat from the jaws of victory !...............

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

Gusty is what you are saying that you called and asked for a MASA, oked the price and got the booking. Then when e-paperwork arrived, it is a Classic booking?

If so, then one hopes that the call was recorded, as that would seem to be he only evidence on your side ( and maybe the price).

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

and assuming the itinerary sent to you says "ANY SEAT AWARD" in the payment section. If so, then fail big time by QF

Is this new?
It doesn't get a mention in any of my pre-June ASA itineraries, just the credit card details.

Edit: On closer inspection it is mentioned at the bottom of the first page under " Additional Fees".

I would sugest that the very fact that you booked online for the U class fare would be fair indication and confirmation that you required a JASA as per below.

From 26 June 2013 Any Seat Award bookings made in reservation classes X, Z, U or P cannot be made online at qantas.com. To make an Any Seat Award booking in these classes please call 1300 366 587 (dial in +61 2 8222 2430 from outside Australia). In most cases the points required for Any Seat Awards booked in these classes are higher than those required for a Classic Award in the same class of travel on the same flight.

It seems that this whole website and ASA is a complete Cluster %u#k

So now will there be a new process developed and a new dedicated phone number to facilitae the cough up of points and SC issuance?

My upcoming JASA mentions Any Seat Award in the tax information and (partial payment by customer) My previous JASA 3 weeks ago said exactly the same thing and points and SC's credited OK

My pre June JASAs clearly say "Any seat reward" below the payment section in the bit that says "tax information."

My post June JASAs also say this so I suspect Gusty's booking has been stuffed up by the QF phone consultant.

Time to call for the record of the phone call "for quality and training purposes."

It's now "Please note: Your call WILL be recorded ...".

There's definitely nothing in the payment or tax section of mine, but it is mentioned under "Additional Fees" (per my edit above).
Mine are all international though, so perhaps that's the difference?

Quite possibly. Mine have been domestic.

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26-was]10April

There was no "ASA" mention on the itinerary.

How about in your Activity Statement where the points were deducted from your account? Does it say something like
"
QANTAS & JETSTAR ANY SEAT AWARD 1 ADT"?

You could always ask in the lounge for a copy of your eticket receipt which prints out on a bit of cardboard the same as the boarding pass & bag receipt.

Then you can double check the ASA fare basis is "UBPASROW" rather than "UBP" for the Classic.

Post June MASA DOM

Under TAX INFORMATION

'Any Seat Award'

In MMB, all flights are in U class.

Another data point for AFF
