Indeed, I get the impression Aussies are too busy emptying supermarket shelves to go on holiday!
cheers skip

Not at the supermarkets I frequent. And at Costco, when don't shoppers here have full trollies?

I think it is more that hand sanitiser has a run on.

went to my local woolies, absolutely teeming with people, the vast majority over 70yo. Terrible to see!

Toilet paper available, but at $1 a roll I'll wait. Still no liquid soap. Popping corn kernals were the only other things I saw was out.

We have a great little Turkish supermarket near us, always has a secret stash of popping corn kernels.

Oh now you've just mad me sad again. I should be in Turkey right now.

For interest sake more so, but here in Manchester things have almost returned to normal for stock and shopping. There was the run on TP, hand sanitiser, long life milk, flour and paracetamol. TP was the first item to return to normal stock, followed very close by long life milk (both now overstocked if anything). We have been able to get pretty much everything we need/want (except Captain Morgans Spiced Rum from Morrisons :().
Shop opening hours have returned pretty much to normal, except the 24 hour supermarkets which have now increased to 6am through 10pm at present (they where 8am to 8pm at one stage..

Reggie, now there's a blast from the past! I forgot you had moved to MAN. Yeah, unfortunately no 24 hour access to booze atm :( ;) :P

Yes, been a few years now in blighty. My wings have been significantly clipped, no more flying for work, everything is by car. Spend an awful amount of time on the M62, M6, M1 and the A1. I have also become a bit of a train convert for internal meetings, but no public transport available for stakeholder visits. The annoying thing was lining up (4 days in a row) to get in and find they hadn't restocked the Rum, but it was on special for GBP16, so went ASDA and got it for 17. Before any responds that Rum is not an essential item to shop for, it is essential when in lockdown and the missus is also working from home and junior is being home schooled.

Scousers :). My first United v Liverpool game at Old Trafford was a big eye opener. I spend a fair bit of time on the other side of the Mersey in Liverpool for work. I love the scouse accent. We also try to fly to Europe out of Liverpool rather than Manchester, which puts us on Easyjet moreso than Ryanair, and a lot of the crew seem to be scouse.

Without trying to take this thread too much off-topic, it makes sense - MAN is horrible, horrible, horrible. I was flying in/out of there weekly until mid March when like everything else, lots of projects were canned and therefore I was back on my cough.

As I mentioned, one of our local'ish bakers has been selling flour, in addition to their normal products to help with the flour shortage. Flour isn't in short supply, but in small consumer oriented packs, it is.

Cheaper than $1 roll at Amazon if you still need tp and has Amazon Prime. Not sure how long stock will last though. Quilton 3 Ply Toilet Tissue (180 Sheets per Roll, 11x10cm), Pack of 36: Amazon.com.au: Health & Personal Care
