Back to the hotel, picked up the bags then the MRT to the airport. Traded my tourist pass for the @10 refund and quickly checked in and through all the airport formalities.
Bit of time to wander, had a bit of a look around the butterfly garden
Brought a coupe of packets of dried fruit with my $10, think I was left with about 15c, always good to have as little cash left over as possible.
Gate opened and something that isn't so great at some of the gates at Changi is that there was no toilet after you pass through security.
Uneventful flight, Emirates landed a few minutes after us and with me 2 people from passing through customs the lined was stopped as the aforementioned crew were allowed to push past us. Not too bad, a few minutes wait and then freedom, until I was told to follow and officer for a random search. Had a few packaged food items but no dramas, took about 3 minutes and I was on my way.
I was more looking forward to Singapore than coughet as I absolutely love(d), however after my time relaxing at coughet I must say Singapore was a bit so so for me, just another city, crowded, busy, dirty. My thinking beforehand was that when traveling to destinations throughout Asia I would always include a Singapore stopover. Certainly when news had came out out that ANA were planning to offer direct flights to Japan my thinking was I wouldn't use it due to not being able to have a stopover in Singapore. Last week I booked a direct ANA flight to Tokyo for January. Maybe a few years away will make my heart grow fonder.
Thanks for reading, will decide what to do with my AMEX travel credit today, tossing up between a few days in Melbourne or a weekend in Broome. Planning to see the young fella again in September and have the aforementioned trip to Japan in January. In the meantime the nose to the grindstone.
