Has anyone else been a recipient?

I was interested to read the CBR coughtail thread, and my invitation specifically includes an invitation for a +1.

Now, what to wear?

Yep, I got one as well. but I wasn't on the last QF81. Although did complain bitterly about its demise in a QF survey. Could that be the link? Now I just have to figure out if I will be in ADL that day.

My invitation does not have a +1 but it does say "business attire" so I assume that means QF J PJs.

I very much look forward to the announcement of the reinstatement of QF81 as one of the "exciting developments for the year ahead" that Lesley will tell us about.

Well, here's a fine to do. I got an invitation to this as a lowly SG. The whole tone of the evening has just been lowered somewhat.

But the real issue is that Mrs asg29e did not get the invitation. And she is WP. From the howls of outrage emanating from Adelaide at this moment you would be forgiven for thinking that QF82 was flying again.

Do you have more FF points than she does? (even though she obviously has more SCs?) I presume she keeps her email contact address up to date and has her preferences set to receive offers from QF? Other than that it is a mystery to me too. But I look forward to meeting other AFFers at the event.

Nope. And she has enough forward bookings to maintain WP next year without raising a sweat.

Just checked my emails tonight and I've got an invite as well.

I get back home on April 28 after 2 weeks in China and the last week in Korea (providing Kim Jong-Un doesn't nuke it while I'm there), and flying on QF128 from HKG-SYD in Y+, so hopefully QF will be nice and upgrade me.

Maybe the AFF'ers attending can arrange to meet somewhere nearby prior to the event, or wear some form of AFF identification?

Well, further developments here.

Mrs asg29e is not one to go out quietly if she thinks she has been hard done by. An email was fired off to Qantas last night asking how asg29e with his peasant like SG status could be invited to such a prestigious event, yet someone with her lofty WP status and having done even more flying could be spurned like this.

Today she got a phone call from Qantas saying her invitation will be sent shortly!!
Something about squeaky wheels and oil comes to mind..?

Oh and by the way they did mention to her how people were selected for this event. Not through status but through number of FF points earned on credit card spend.

I have put through approx 700k QFF points on CC spend over the last 12 months so that fits for me. Is it the experience of other invitees that they have been giving their credit cards a bit of a hammering?
