Covid-19 - status pause

That is more generous than I expected.

Agree - wholeheartedly. Changes my position of "get lifetime gold and then pause obsessive use of Q" which was driven by annoyance with ome recent of experiences with Q. Brands have the opportunity to gain loyalty by doing right by both their consumers as well as treating their employees right during this time.

Well I got the email and was momentarily excited.

Wait, what? I have already requalified WP and my status year ends end April. It's the next 12 months that are looking grim. Financially too, so I won't be spending a lot. With great fanfare, Olivia has offered me nothing much.

Pfaw!

While I am not impacted by this, I think it is a good (and quite prompt) response by Qantas to supporting its customers (and maintaining loyalty!).

Edit - just read Pineapple Skip's post above - I guess there will always be cases where the model doesn't work. But maybe for many it will.

Yes. Worth(less) to some of us. But happy for those who will benefit.

Edit: I think that there’s a pun in there, somewhere.

Nice gesture as I have dropped back to Gold and even without Coronavirus probably wouldn’t have retained it as I have pretty much abandoned the QF hamster wheel.

Yeah, good stuff for those just short. But hope they think this through some more. I'm paid by the job, fly to the job. The jobs reduced to zero mid March, and expecting to be staring into a financial pit for the next six months (if you're thinking this will be over soon, you're dreaming). It's 2021 I won't requalify, not this year.

And I'm sure there will be many, many others in the same position.

Yup. I have the WP extension. Not sure if I will ever use it this year but I appreciate the gesture in a general time of awful news.

My LTG has also been extended another year. Wish I'd paid the 120,000 points to retain platinum and then I'd be platinum for another year

Bummer. But you do have a nice Virgin one and maybe they might status match?

I'm glad I cancelled some flights I'd booked for a status run. I'd decided I wouldnt be travelling much in the next few months to even bother with any of it.

Me too. Paid by job. Just have to find something else to do.
