Hi Folks

I debated with myself whether this was worth a thread and decided to indulge myself. For anyone left reading, I will be leaving Virgin Australia at the end of next week after almost 9 years. When I started with the company on a contract basis we were still flying B737 classics and operating from the "Tin Shed" at SYD. It was actually designing Velocity and getting it through the Board approval process which finally secured me a "permanent" position in 2005, the same year I joined AFF. This forum has been without doubt the single most valuable source of information in firstly designing the program and then continuing to guide its evolution. I can assure members that the refresh that will occur this year will have some significant changes that will be highly valued.

Here's a little secret I've been sitting on for a while which I thought might be good for a laugh and to show how times have changed. On the day we launched Velocity in 2005, Lindsay Wilson received an email from Brett Godfrey http://www.australianfrequentflyer....velocity/have-you-joined-velocity-6060-2.html Sorry Lindsay - it was actually me hacking Brett's email. Easier to do and beg forgiveness than to ask permission in advance. Those were the days - couldn't get away with that now! Quite interesting to look at some of the early posts about Velocity and see where we have gotten to now. Well done to Phil and his team.

Mods can you please delete "authenticated company rep" from my profile? Velocity Rewards and Virgin Australia will continue to represent us on AFF and look after members. Thank you all for your thoughts and contributions over the years.

cheers

CrazyDave98

What?

Are you Crazy?

Why oh why are you leaving? Have you won the lotto?

Dave,

Sad to see you go, and all the best for the future. Thanks for all your help over the last year or so! Hopefully you'll stick around to join the conversations.. :)

Good luck for whatever is next Dave and thanks for all your input. In the short time I've been here on AFF, you've been a valuable company rep.

At the end of next week, feel free to join the discussions about what 'might' be coming up in the relaunch! ;)

Dave,
May I say that I am shocked and saddened that you are leaving Virgin,
I have always been very appreciative of the contributions you have made to the Australian

our members about Virgin services.
I wish you all the very best for whatever you do,and wherever your career takes you.
On behalf of myself, and I am sure many other AFF members, thank you for your contributions
and good luck.

I do hope you'll still be sticking around on AFF. I highly value your insightful contributions to this forum, whether on Virgin Australia or general airline industry stuff. Good luck with whatever is next! :)

CrazyDave98,

I am surprised to hear of you leaving - and I have valued your comments and contirbutions over the past few years, and for the Velocity scheme!

I wish you all the best for the future, wherever that takes you.

Cheers,
Mark

Good luck with your future career move Dave. With a name like CrazyDave, hope your not heading to Tiger?Your Virgin/Velocity info has been appreciated.

CrazyDave98,

I haven't been on here as long as many others - but it is evident that your participation in this forum his very highly regarded and been a great asset and that I have witnessed during my own short tenure at AFF.

Hope you stay around - and if you are no longer on the payroll, you may as well claim as many scoops on here as possible. ;)

I hope you enjoy whatever it is that you next decide to do...

Good luck at........ ..... Strategic?... Tiger?... Our Lady Air?

Feedback is a two way street IMHO, and CrazyDave98, you were one of the first to showcase that here on AFF as an airline insider/official/unofficial rep, thank you, please stick around regardless of your new journey, experience is always welcome.

Thanks for your valuable contributions and inputs.
No doubt you will still be around AFF.....all the best for the future.

Ric

Dave, on behalf of the whole AFF mob, I thank you for your contribution to AFF over the years. Your knowledge, industry insights, problem solving, and just lending an ear at times made a MASSIVE contribution to AFF. Your role as a company rep will be sorely missed.

I have no doubt the you will soar in whatever you decide to do.

Thank you again and best of luck!!

Congrats?

I trust wherever you're moving on to is a step onwards, up the ladder, to greater things.

So, can you get rid of "Vermin" now? :p

Thanks CrazyDave98. The fact that I can remember you assisted me in crediting some missing miles back in 2008 shows that even a small gesture by a company can be remembered and rewarded by customers.
You set the trend for excellent customer service and making us AFFers feel that we are listened to. Hopefully this will followed by VA's competitors.

Good luck for the future...

Dave, let me wish you all the best for you next role. It has been helpful to have a company represented so well by you. Well done!

All the best for your future and appreciate all your input over the time I have been a member. The forums just wont be the same without you.:(

Hey Dave,

I'm sort of the new / old kid on the DJ block so to speak. While we have never interacted directly, I'm sure my decision to start the relationship with DJ was due, partly to your efforts over the past years. Bringing about change is always hard and from the amount of change DJ is revealing, there was a LOT of good thought and feeling involved in crafting the changes.

I thank you for your part in making the start of my new journey with DJ possible. Well done. :D
