What is it with me and wickets??

Warner gone for 0. Can't remember the last time Aust were 1 for 0 in Australia

I'll now be offline as I drive the family to the Gold Coast. Listening to it on ABC Radio but unable to post. Somebody will keep the scoring up to date ...

Drinks on the 1st morning and 1/44. To me neither batsman looking convincing. Interesting that Dhoni expects the bowlers to get something out of the wicket for the first hour each day

Haddin and Smith looking nice and settled with the score at 5/253, fingers crossed for a nice big partnership that leads into day 2.

They need to bat for the first 2 sessions tomorrow at least.

Not impressed with Burn's swipe which led to his dismissal. He did not need to play at that ball

Five wickets down on day 1, Australia won't lose. Still good batting to follow. India needed to get 7 or 8 wickets to have a realistic chance.

LOL. We are 5 down for not much again but our best batting is yet to come.

5/295, based on the score Aust just ahead. Test cricket is different, Joe will have to get used to the cut & thrust

Are there any AFF members at the MCG today ?

I was there for the day with tomorrow and Sunday to follow. Great atmosphere at the ground and the weather held up. I managed to get sunburned though under cover all day with the temperature only getting to 19C. Go figure. It was a typical first day but quite slow. Tomorrow will start to give an indication of how it will go. Marsh looked okay until a rash shot and Watson had a big life before eventually getting out. These two gents will always be passengers and the time must come soon for some new selections. Smith saved it again of course.I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Meanwhile, in Christchurch NZ have had a brilliant first day against Sri Lanka with another innings from McCullum that rewrites the record books. NZ 429/7 (80.3 ov, MD Craig 5*, AD Mathews 2/34) - Stumps | Live Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

I didn't think Haddin looked nice and settled at all-thought he looked like a bloke playing his last test and knowing he had held on too long(had a hell of time when they went around the wicket)

Haddin gets his 50. The short balls these mornings didn't quite work for the Indians. He's getting comfortable and moving well.

Was out yesterday shopping for an extended time, so missed posting anything in the thread. Watched the highlights late last night. Smith played like a man possessed and the tail wagged. Must have been a great day to watch the Aussies demolish India's bowling.

That card makes for brilliant reading. Couple of records for Smith yesterday - and a highest score by Harris:

Pity that Haddin missed the catch from Dharwan, would have closed the noose a little:
