He's missing that all-of-day batting ability - gets tired and does a commensurate shot. Really he should have got that ball over the rope but just wasn't in the right spot and hit it too high on the bat.

Seven centuries, with a top score of 119... and nine 50s, with a 96 and a 75, but nothing else over 67.

He looks good at times, but that potential is still some way short of being fulfilled.

Play has started 30 mins early, two overs bowled and nothing to report....yet. 5/374, Sharma 35, Saha 4

Yes! The first breakthrough of the morning session:

107.5 Lyon to RG Sharma, OUT, he's caught it! What a soft dismissal! It was a loopy delivery outside off and Rohit has come down the track to try and nudge it away. But all he's managed is return the ball back into the bowler's hands. Lyon had to dive to his right off his followthrough and just about holds on. Australia badly wanted that

RG Sharma c & b Lyon 43 (89b 5x4 0x6) SR: 48.31

6/399. Saha 21 n.o.

Now we're into the tail, it's not one that should wag ;)

In the car on the way to see client and heard Saha'a wicket - out for 25, dubious catch by Watson off Lyon.
Had to pull over.

As I type, another wicket by Lyon.
He now has a Michelle :D

Innings wrapping up

No team would declare to win the match when it's their first innings. You give full control to the opposition doing that.
The way India were batting it would have been possible to get to 650-700 later today and declare and try getting Australia out cheaply on a turning wicket. They couldn't lose the match in that position. Not going to happen now and Australia has realistic chance of winning again.

Where are Ashwin and Ohja? Injured?

73-run lead makes for an interesting match and an interesting series. The Aussie bowlers might head to Brisbane having done quite a lot of work, which is something that just didn't happen during last year's Ashes.

Finished with client and I find we're 1/113. Watson still there and Warner following on from his last innings :D
He just got to 63 and the applause happens from the crowd.

Will he get get another century?

Aaron bowls Warner on 66, but shown to be a no ball :o

Seems that Aaron gave a mouthful to Warner as he walked off, only to be told to come back when the replay indicated a huge no ball delivery.

Warner obviously walked bak to the crease, on the way giving to Aaron as good as he got :D (no doubt a friendly comment on his ability to bowl a legal delivery).

Then the fun started ;) - can't wait to see that replayed tonight

Woah, India making a game of it :o Watson gone for 33 and Clarke for 7. Then Warner dropped the very next ball on 89.

Aust 3/175.

After having used up the many lives he has received, Warner is finally bowled for 102. Lead is approaching 300, with 6 wickets in hand, so they'll probably try to force a result by sending the Indians in early tomorrow.

Gets better as Mitchell Marsh (40) and Steve Smith (52 n.o.) pushed the scoring in the last session. Haddin has joined Smith and it's 5/290 and a lead of 363.

Love the consistency of our top order batsmens' this Test. Warner (145 and 102); Smith (162 n.o. and 52 n.o.); Marsh 41 and 40. Not to forget Clarke 128 & 7.

Doesn't look good for Clarke - he's pulled up injured whilst fielding. Looks like a hamstring tear. That'll mean he misses Brisbane. Ed Cowan, start laying out your cricket kit

India up to 2/144

Saw several sources yesterday that indicated Ed was at long odds to ever get back in the Test squad-not sure of the reasoning. I believe Ian Chappell may have been one not keen to have him back in the fold

Both Kohli and Vijay are on 99, so they are looking solid. Who'll get there first - Kohli. Also 100 in both innings
