Apparently the Sichuan original is a drier noodle dish (with a sauce). The soup version came from Hong Kong and worked its way back across the rest of China. This is what the CX dan dan noodles look like...not even close.
Yes, and I miss them so much! This is what the CX dan dan noodles look like...not even close.
I thought the Galbi-jjim ssam (lunch) was quite good when I had it last weekend. The stand out for me though was the chicken wing starter. It was deliciousSYD F yesterday, MEL F today!
The current JQ17/18 SYD-MEL pair are great for sampling both breakfast and lunch menus in both lounges on an easy and reasonably timed domestic hop, although both were delayed by 1-2 hours after boarding . There was some discussion recently about Jetstar selling J as 'upfront' economy seat on these domestic hops, but on both my flights they were sold as regular J seats.

No luck getting a spa booking ex SYD, but was lucky enough to grab one ex MEL. Here's the MEL spa menu in case it hasn't already been posted.

Unfortunately, my arvo SFO flight later this month is now a morning flight via LAX - so will have to make do with breakfast….Somebody on the Qantas Platinum Frequent Flyers group on Facebook posted a photo of it yesterday.

Mrs sudoer can be a very tough marker, and isn't usually impressed by the SYD F food, but said this was her best visit to date out 25-30 over the last 7 years. The fried chicken was a real stand-out, coming out piping hot and with some decent spice from the gochujang. She said it was on par with some of the better korean fried chicken you might find in Strathfield or Eastwood.
…and any special offerings behind the bar?

Still no Taittinger or Perrier-Jouët…Ha, sorry but that would be pushing the friendship, she thrilled enough when I asked her to take a pic of the ice bucket
