CX PE MEL to Japan April Booking

Hey all,

Wanting to book PE for 2xAdults 2xChildren in PE for April 2023.

Seeing some open jaw fares around the $9k mark which seems quite cheap (in to Tokyo, out from Osaka). Granted the HKG <> Japan legs are in normal econ.

What is the PE experience on Cathay like on the MEL <> HKG legs and is it worth it over standard econ? Are there other airline alternatives on PE that are worth considering?

IDK about their PE but I did get this email about an Asia sale yesterday. It cheaper to fly on to Tokyo than stopping at HKG

Oh you mean just do MEL > Tokyo return rather than back out through Osaka? Yeah those fares come up a little cheaper again in PE.... Only issue is there is a 14 hour layover in HKG on the way back at night time so not much to do except book in to a hotel?

I don’t know if you want to run the MNL gauntlet but PR had flights in PE for around $1600 return recently. I don’t know how their PE is rated and have no experience with it so can’t help you there.
Even if things are slightly of less quality than CX it’s a saving of around $2-3k for your holiday

I did see those (not available anymore. PE is coming in around $12k now on the same dates I am looking at) and the layover is pretty quick too. Just wasn't sure about PR rep and ontime performance

I’ve flown with them in J a few times and have found them very reliable and punctual.
Are they perfect? NO, they have their flaws but still offer a pretty good service. I’ve never flown in PE with anyone so have no comparison but I wouldn’t think there is a heap of difference in product between the carriers.

guys.. just be careful on CX service - HKG Japan leg... they have been cutting service for now in February - hopefully it will be fine by then... just keep this in mind at this time
