Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Anyone noticed delays with first choice from last week? Normally wine is dispatched overnight. I've been waiting 6 days for one order and heard nothing, a second order of 2010 wynns BL CS I was informed was out of stock...

Happened aplenty times to me.
It has been either:
1. They are out of stock, and cs are slow to inform.
or
2. They are internally transferring stock interstate to fulfill orders.
Either way, give them a buzz or email to chase up.

Personally I find FC really slow especially relative to other onliners. Basically a reflection of how their stores and business operates.

I did a click and collect for a a 6 pack in Vic (delivery wasn’t available for the Struie), which included 2 x 2010 Black Label CS.

Noticed they gave me 1 x 2010 and 1 x 2012. Was initially annoyed but after checking reviews (including that Wynns purple patch article posted recently), it appears the 2012 is as good (if not better) than the 2010, so decided to let it go.

Cellarmasters: For the next two days enjoy an extra $50 OFF^ any order of $120 or more with promo code: 50DOLLARSOFF.

I thought this good value at under $6.50 a bottle (stacking usual add on discounts):

Cellarmasters have the Barossa Old Vine Shiraz 2014 (3 pack) for $127, which would be $77 after discount. I know Woolies now own this label, but is this still worth a punt?

Pick Up only. Thank you! Delivery was not available in VIC, my cart was deleted. Found one not to far away!
got buyers remorse for only picking up 4 bottles of the Clonakilla, went back for more, and it was sold out in Richmond! Found another 8 at Box Hill. $13.95 after cashback is too good to not take a decent allocation.

Have you tried them? They only rate 3.8/5 on Vivino from over 2000 reviews which is ok but nothing amazing. There is mention of it being medium body, which isn't my normal preference but I'd be interested in your thoughts if you've tried them.

Or you could price match at Dans. Its not on clearance so no reason to reject it.
I find it humorous that they are always talking about monitoring competitor's pricing and adjusting accordingly but if its something too low they ignore it.

Dans often want you to show them in stock within a certain amount of KMs when you ask, so I figured... just get it. Also - 7% cashback is a small bonus for Liquorland. I think i also got something like 500 measly bonus flybuys pts for my trouble.

I've only ever had a glass or two at restaurants, but recall enjoying it. Here's a review of the 2019 from Mike Bennie at The Wine Front (94 pts)

"Some of the older wines in my cellar are Clonakilla Hilltops Shiraz. There’s older, older, but of the younger older wines, this label hits quite a few slots. Has always been a good proposition. Better yet, the year it won ‘Best Wine Of Show’ etc when I was in my epoch of judging Canberra Regional Wine Show – a wine for the people. This one is too. It’s a significantly excellent release of this shiraz, shimmers in the glass with purple-dark red colour, slips over the palate with a satiny spread of mellifluous fruit and spice, offers fine sheets of lacy tannin and finishes fresh and nicely puckering. Such pretty sweet fruit, floral notes and piquant spice. Such a delight! Such pleasing and easy drinking but feels like pedigree too. A worthy addition to a cellar (and for your glass now, now, now)." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

At $14-15 that's great value on the Hilltops, though I personally prefer the O'Raida. They are easy-drinking reds to me though, doesn't really compare with the SV.

For those who picked them up, are they mixed vintages or the latest '19 release? Ordered half a case online.
