Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, where would be the best place to sell some of the premium surplus wine (an unopened 6 pack of Rockford BP 2007) and what are the nuances, Thanks!

Wickman wine auction

This place might not be as pretty as Langton but highly recommend by many wine lovers. You can always email Mark(owner) have a chat before you made any decision , he will sort you out from beginning to the end.

Cellarmasters codes:

100WHITES = $100 off a $299+ spend on whites
100MIXES = $100 off a $249+ spend on mixed cases
100SHIRAZ = $100 off a 249+ spend on shiraz

The codes appear to be interchangable with anything on the Cellarmasters site. Eg. I could use the 100SHIRAZ code which is supposedly only for shiaraz (Here’s your chance to explore Shiraz in all its magnificent glory thanks to an extra $100 OFF all Shiraz orders of $249 or more) on a case og grenache.

I'm seeing quite a few solid deals out of Skye Cellars

I missed it, but they had Claymore Black Magic Woman Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 $15

Zerella Wines Olivers Road McLaren Vale Grenache 2020 for $15 ATM, down from $60 cellardoor (Single Vineyard). I ended up grabbing a case to split with a friend. They started Tatachilla and sold it for alot!

Lantons is a good option. Don't suppose you're in Brisbane?
Will try Langtons, Sorry - I am in Sydney
If you are not looking at making a profit - you could use the Share-a-Case thread on AFF
Tried that thread before without much success, might put it up again for a swap of an equal(ish) wine

Will drop Mark an email - always try to support an independent smaller guy

  • 2020 Cré Nouveau Syrah - Yarra Valley $28
A joyful nouveau-style red from a new small producer of Yarra Valley wines. Shiraz (or, to use the French name, syrah) grapes, handpicked, placed as whole bunches into a vat and then left to go through carbonic maceration and wild fermentation before being pressed off for a short stint in old oak before bottling. It tastes so vibrant, so full of sappy, spicy fruit, that it brought back sensory memories of working in a winery during vintage, squishing fresh shiraz grapes as they bubbled in the ferment.
15% off red wine @ DRNKS with UB40 - today only - free delivery to SYD, MEL, BNE, ADL, PER, CBR, HBA, NTL, WOL, BNK

I've found Langtons fairly decent, some struggles occasionally with communication, but I have found them quite accommodating with seller requests. Possibly a higher seller commision then other sites?
  • Sellers are charged a commision of 13.75% of sale price (or a minimum of $4 a bottle).
  • Pickup has always been free, for my consignments anyway, or free drop off at some metro DM if 4 cases or less (Wickmans state pickup is a subsidised, sometimes free, service?)
  • Regional pickup is no issue.
  • You are covered for damage or loss at the lowest estimated value. I have never had damage in my consignments.
Langtons stipulate the reserve price must be the lowest price estimate, but I have never had an issue asking for my reserves to be raised to where I feel they reflect a more accurate market value. (Wickmans website indicates they will ask you to pay a listing fee if you want to set a higher reserve)

Current price est for the Rockford Basket Press Shiraz 2007 via Langtons is $150-$180, last sale was $191

Currently selling some stuff on Langtons now for the first time and whilst the process is fairly simple, it’s just a slow process from start to finish. Not sure what others experiences are like but it was 6 weeks just to get it listed and allocated to an auction.

That’s pretty standard. At least they pay quickly once you sell.

Here is a monster Shiraz deal (thanks @Dr Ralph for codes heads up) headlined by St Henri

Click here and use 100SHIRAZ to knock $100 off

Don't forget to use Shopback 8% for another $10 ish off if it tracks eventually.

Bought one pack, had a closer look, repeat. Works out about $25 a bottle - got to be happy with that.
Seems you got lucky:

'Premium Reds Six Pack (6x1 is currently out of stock.'

Out of stock. Went fast!

Yeah, fails on payment. I tried as soon as you posted, so unsure how anyone managed to score it.
Ohwell.

Maybe only a few left, who knows.

In search it comes up as a seperate listing, $475.
Somehow you found a link where it's much less, definitely an error or perhaps an old sale? Old link, before they jacked it? 😬

Wow that was quick!
How did you get that link with the price?
When I search mixed case it is on a much higher price interestingly.
Thanks for sharing!
