Of all the tips, tricks and advice I've found on this site,
this one (for me) takes the cake as the best, most fortuitous one of the year!
As it turns out, I just happened to be down the road from that very same BWS Ashfield when I read your post this arvo. Turns out that racing up escalators can be quite the exercise
Anyway, I cradled that final bottle of Parker First Growth like it was a baby. Throw in the 30% discount and it's like Christmas has come early
My purchase included:
- Parker First Growth 2008 ($50 odd)
- Arrogant Frog Rose (always tremendous value; down to $10)
- Arrogant Frog Shiraz 2014 (never tried but I hear it's great; down to $10 or so)
- Jacob's Creek Reserve Shiraz 2014 (Limestone Coast; down to $11)
- Jacob's Creek Reserve Shiraz 2013 (Barossa; down to $11)
- Some random el-cheapo Shiraz 2014 ($4 or thereabouts; some turps purely to make up the numbers... the cleanskin was $1 more!)
Bought one bottle of each, and all prices quoted are before the 30% discount.
In the end, the six bottles in total came to a fraction over $100, discounted to a mere $77
