Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I would be very keen to hear your thoughts. I am not keen on drinking labels and yes, there is a chance that I might not like the Signature. I do not recall ever having it. In addition I have come to accept that I am somewhat bad at working out which ones will improve with time in the cellar, and which ones will not, in this case in my opinion provenance and track record are key. Maybe I would take a punt on it if it was labelled Signature, but without any sort of guarantee I am not taking chances.

Yes, my views are my own opinion and I will openly say that I wish I knew a lot more about wine. However, I do have skin in the game and my criterion is simple: are the rest of the five bottles likely to give me pleasure down the road? If I don't look forward to drinking them, back they go.
Bloke from worked messaged me, as I told him to try a Pinot.

He normally spends max $10-15

Having now read the same notes I can definitely see similarities between the nose and finish between my bottle and the one described:

Yeah, i can see it. Would i be happy if i paid 50? No. Am i happy at 17? Yip.

Hahaha I had little say in the matter, my brother and his friend really wanted it.

He did say he'd take 3, but I said I'd take 2 if he splits some French Pinot with me.

I know, don't mind me. Inside I'm actually crying, and I am 100% June onwards my budget.

The French Pinot is part of my June budget, so I have a bit of a wait list to get through. Buying 6pks is what hurts me, if I can split it allows me more room.

The recent BWS orders were a one off, I basically took all the Mollydooker left in SA, and AMON-RA.

Lol, mate you told me there were no Mollydookers left in Adel because the wider public took them all....

Are you local?

I found these 3 hours out of Adelaide, I had to call various courier companies, BWS and clear it. I actually called on the weekend, and asked if there was any stock and the lady said really far out. Hours later, I thought I'll check and I found them out in the country!
I got lucky with $15 door to door. I had already got these tho, there was nothing else.

Sorry, if I had found other stores I would of let you know!

Ah right! I thought I had a vague recollection that somebody was asking me how to get stock delivered from a remote BWS - but it must have been in my dream!
Hahhaa, no one would do it! The quotes I saw were expensive, and that courier didn't work out that way.

But I got there in the end, but yes I did ask you for advice. I did say I'd share 👍

Picked up a dozen of St Eileen Hardy Shiraz that just gone on special for $59 at BWS- after all discounts and 5% Cashrewards cashback - it should work out at smidgeon over $45. (less the BWS gift they gave me)

It is the wine that I have some very fond memories when I had a while ago. A true iconic McLaren

Buy all of them, that way no one else has to drink them.

Nice, I've noticed they have started to go on clearance at a few BWS stores near me, I'm just waiting till they hit 50% off before pulling the trigger. That and the Teusner Albert Shiraz are the ones I'm hanging out for.

I think they hit 50% off already?

I would grab them before @Mynameislucluc clears all the stock nationwide with his secret weapon.

Teusner Albert Shiraz is already 50% off in a number of stores in NSW. Still a lot of stock around

The secret weapon does have me little nervous! But cheapest near me is still $88.50, so probably one more reduction before it goes half price. I did get 2 bottles of the 2015 last year from BWS at half price, haven't cracked any yet but was very impressed by this wine when I tried it a few years ago.

You from SA?

I already grabbed a bottle last year, and most of its been cleared before it hit 50%> current vintage is rated 93pts I believe.

There's probably a few bottles laying around, but I checked 10+ stores & didn't see any. I wouldn't bother with a single bottle, I spose if you're lucky enough to grab 6, it makes life easier.
