Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Here is a 'different' offer from Tahbilk. Tempted to give it a go. Tahbilk produce nice wines and The average recommended retail price for the 6 other wines is $70.80 per bottle. So, could be some good stuffs there...

New best deal ever from GWD Drayton’s Shiraz $90 a dozen, normally $90 a bottle... 😂 Sounds too good to be good... Anyone know that wine?
I had a good Sémillon from Drayton’s so a legit winery...
I bought the 2015 vintage last year at the same price. Even at $8 a bottle I was ripped off

Sounds correct but showing $199.99 per bottle for the Marsican on Dan's website.
Yes, I saw that. And also there is a discrepancy re enclosure (screw cap vs Cork)
However DM showing $199.99 per bottle for 2014 vintage so maybe then never sold the 2015 vintage hence no relevant weblink.

The commonalities that I see are

1. Only produced in exceptional years.
2. Sourced from the finest of vineyards and made only in very small volumes.
3. cherry and chocolate and spice
4. Alcohol volume 14%
5. RRP $235 and finally
6. Food Match - Pasta.

It is largely academic for me as I cannot see myself splashing $135 on it when you can get Eileen Hardy for $60 and they force you to purchase a 6 pack.

So unless the wife makes Spaghetti alla chitarra ai fungi e tartuffo (Abruzzo style spaghetti with mushroom and truffle) I am pretty safe!

Not sure if it is a brilliant deal, but here is Penfolds Bin 138
Combine it with $60 credit from Groupon for $5
Should bring the price to $32.50 plus you might get$10-$15 from cashback if it tracks.

Maybe you could get an individual bottle or two better when (and if) $25-$30 cashback tracks but it could be helpful to people who want to get a 6 pack and don't want to dick around with cashback etc..

YEOMAN is $250 but can be bought from WINEDIRECT.com.au for $200 and is under screwcap 2017 vintage.

Looks like a cork enclosure to me. About a month ago I had Yeoman 2014 and it was def a cork enclosure - it is almost like their trademark - heavy bottle, cork and copious amounts of wax to top it off.

And it can be bought as a (worst kept) secret here for $100

Good price except you have to buy minimum 3 bottles

I believe I got it for around $99 a bottle from Dan's on a secret deal. I also managed to score 15% CB.

It's a good wine, but like you've mentioned it's simply to expensive with the deals around at the moment.

25% cashback, capped at $25 with Cashrewards at Boozebud today.

Grant Burge Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon is $56.75 - $12.90 = $43.85

Mike Press deal.
$400 minimum spend tho, aka 4 cases.

$100 per case of 12:
  • 2021 Sauvignon Blanc
  • 2021 Chardonnay
  • 2021 Pinot Noir Rosé
$120 per case of 12:
  • 2018 Merlot
  • 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 2018 Shiraz
Also included in the offer:
  • 2018 Beaujolais-Villages - $145 per case of 12
  • 2018 Jimmy’s Block Shiraz - $145 per case of 12
  • 2018 Pinot Noir - $165 per case of 12
  • 2015 MP1 Shiraz - $195 per case of 12
I just got a reminder email about this and picked up 4 cases of the Jimmy's Block (94 points from JH and TS) with some friends. At $12 a bottle this feels like a winner. Tyson Steltzer gave it his top wine under $25 last year (along with 3 other Mike Press wines in his top 12) and its sitting at a remarkably healthy 4.3 on Vivino.

I would absolutely jump on this, however buying just for myself 4 cases is extreme.

I'll wait for another deal with just the 2 cases, would be nice to mix & match too!
