Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Looks like they're retiring 6 for $99 and going for multiple price-points - 6 for $60, 6 for $90, 6 for $120 - see https://www.danmurphys.com.au/list/pick-and-mix
Ahh, thats where everything went wrong... it looks like they ran the two promotions at the same time, guess they didn't learn anything from the grey label fiasco.

i.e. the yarra trail from image before was $6.60 a case.
Retail price = $182.40 (30.40 ea in 6)
Discount from 6 for $99 = -$83.40 (182.40-99)
Discount from 6 for 90 = -$92.40 (182.40-90)
Thus final price = $6.60 for 6

We didn't pay $20 a bottle, we paid $3-6 a bottle. Some of the wines were reduced future, aka price error.
I got 7 cases for $150.Same

TOB's newsletters are here, but there are a number of other French wine importers around, some specialising in certain wines

besides above, there was a recent Loire Valley online tasting with chenin blanc and cabernet franc; this week Vintec have one on the southwest, featuring Cahors (malbec) and Jurancon (manseng), possibly with the help of Mosaique; previously,

if this is too off-topic, then perhaps consider creating a new thread, such as "wine recommendations - what should i buy?"

life's too short to drink or waste money on inferior wine - i rely on professional reviews and specialised blogs, particular posters/forums, personal recommendations from those more knowledgeable, CellarTracker - Vivino is the last place that i'd check

you need to look harder at better stores - Buzz is the retail arm of importer/distributor Vintage & Vine :)

look forward to your reviews of their wines :)

so you know the prices of the wines in France, but how is TOB cheaper if they can't be found here?

Ah!Ah!Ah! That is true, I can't compare with the exact same wine and my comments didn't make much sense as I have no ideas what other importers unknown by me can offer.

Wasn’t making any reference to what you picked up. Just talking about the recurring 6 for 99 deal and pointing out I can never get hold of the Known Pleasures despite it always being included, and making the point that any time you can get a Steve Flamsteed made wine (Giant Steps winemaker) for under 20 it’s a bargain.

I managed to grab some KP when it was on sale and thought it’s quite nice but definitely not at the $60 RRP caliber, maybe $30. Dan’s sale price was good, not a huge bargain though. Keep your eyes open and I’m sure you’ll find far better bargains.

I don’t doubt it and have indeed had many a better bargain for sure - but I do like this particular wine, and personally find it a bargain at $20.

Looks like they have fixed it now.
Managed to order 3 cases of Hares Chase for about $60 earlier and got a shipping notification so it appear they are honouring these

There is plenty of wine on sale 25-20-15-10-5% off with $150 spend and free shipping.

I had a quick browse and didn't see anything too appealing, but definitely good if someone can. $150 - 25% - 30% CB

You can also use SHOPBACK25 for new member to get additional $25 for purchase >$150 though no free delivery. Only a fraction ($3) better than BESTBUD.

I ended up getting 389 and footbolt Shiraz to get just above 100.

A few wines of interest definitely - Seville Pinot Noir etc with CB discounted to $25 a bottle from $40 RRP which is quite good given it's not a discount I've seen often for this winemaker.

Bin 28 goes down to $25 as well for those interested ^_^

Yep i had just ordered some Seville Estate pinot. 4 bottles works out at 28.50 a bottle after the 20% discount and the 30% cashback (capped at $30) inc free delivery
Seville was one of our favourite Yarra pinot producers, from a trip a couple of years back
