Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I got a 6L bottle...it is huge and very heavy!

Some of mine arrived today. But a number, including some Methuselah's appear to have gone missing!

I tried to call Bec Hardy this afternoon and got an answering machine. I've now sent an email. Not hopeful, as it appears some of the items have now sold out.

Tempting, as I grabbed a $50 voucher off someone for $10 but their prices are jacked up.

It's interesting that you received the 2018 in the Methuselah. I received the 2017 and that is what was advertised online. Maybe they sold too many of the 2017's and have now sold all the 2018's?

Spotted some more $5 clearance items at First Choice today (to be fair, I rarely drop in so it may not be new). Demonic Shiraz from the McWilliam's stable was 4.1 on Vivino with a lot of ratings so dipped my toes in. Looks like they're clearing out all of the Theory Of Evolution varietals. In store only, no point looking online.

I think that 2018 was the Jeroboam

Reviews for 2017 are not good.
I'm not sure what vintage is being sold, but it's a pretty solid Winery.

Yeah, 89 points isn't great. But I've bought plenty of JH95 wine which is garbage.

It's still decent value at $12, I wouldn't pay $20.

It's close. I bought these and cashback tracked at $21.82, not $24. I think maybe it works off the GST excl price. Still, adding the $15 in flybuys takes it down to $43.18 for the two, which seems a pretty sharp price for a nice wine...
I actually didn't buy anything , for once lol.

Still got 11 bottles of St Hugo from the 4 for $40 deal at Liquorland years ago 🤣

Picked up an order at First Choice"

There are a lot of 'whilst stocks last' specials at First Choice right night. We've seen these types of 'clearance' sales at First Choice previously. It's somewhat like BWS do, but a lot less regular. These will be store specific items/prices - no way to see these online. I visited my local First Choice yesterday and came away with 20 bottles.

Katnook was Squires Cab Merlot. Didn't rate well so I didn't pick any up. I posted recently about $5 at First Choice.
Yeah, I saw your post hence I looked around when I picked up an order.

Ohwell, I guess you gotta give some deals to regulars 🤣

I didn't grab any, I really don't need any $5 wine unless people say it's reasonable.
Theory of Evolutione Tmpranillo actually had decent feedback on avivino.
