Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Anyone notice BWS added a lot of wines to the clearance section with no actual discounts?
I've seen this too but then they do seem to start having a discount added after a week or few if its still there. So its like they are putting it in clearance to make sure it doesn't re-order if sold

I think 35%CR. And I think it's worth it for $40-50 each.
I personally enjoyed and I think 2015 is great vintage.

Sorry, just saw you mentioned SB in 2 days time. Not sure if your clearance wine still there by then 😁.
Thanks. 35% CR is for today and 40% SB is for Saturday.

Saw on OzB:
Saturday 2/4/22 1-5pm AEDT
BWS 40% cashback with SB, cap $40
Says it will stack with BWS's $10 off $50 spend for new accounts promo

My local has Peter Lehmann Stonewell 2015 for $80. Reduced from $92.
If 40% cashback is based on ex-GST price (72.72) = 29.09 discount
Making it ~40.91 with the $10 off
I've bought it for sub $35 before, but those days of deals are probably long gone.

Anyone think the 2015 is worth it?
It's $80 at First Choice standard, BWS prices tend to be 10-20% higher standard than Dan Murphys.

This is exactly what happens. The products will then progressively reduce according to the sell- through rate up to a maximum of 50%. The red wine range review has just started, at the clearance prices won't be strong for another month or so.

Most don't last til 50%< plenty of people pay during the stages in-store.

I watch BWS weekly, it's gotten more difficult to find wines at 50%< and I don't even worry about cashback any longer.

It will always end up with a bunch of decent wines cleared out and filled with Pinnacle/own-branded cough. BWS is becoming less and less relevant as a wine retailer

We need another of those excellent BWS clearance lists from our colleague. Where is he when we need him? Helloooooo! ACT list pls

He's too busy taking all the good stuff, if you're waiting for that list you'll only have access to sloppy seconds. People like me look weekly, we don't wait for Cashback. Everytime I wait, I lose wine. I now just buy 6+ to grab 10% + 5% GC and I don't worry.

It's not that difficult to look around your part of the city, and nothing is at 50%. BWS just started discounting some reds. Recently when they do CB, nothing good is in clearance or even discounted. They're timing it pretty good, sucks for us!

I got some ok sloppy seconds a while back. Probs not worth raiding Canberra!

I did notice looking at all my local BWSs that there are no decent discounts going in ACT despite saying it's a 'clearance' and no variety between stores - they're just saying 'pls buy these' without reducing the price. Weird. Eg leconfield c/s for $35. Wow clearance!

I haven't posted for a while for a few reasons but the most important is a lack of deals with reasonable quantity. BWS have been incredibly stingy on deals for months now and Coles have obviously fired the guy who kept coughing up their prices because I haven't seen a good deal from them since before Christmas.

If I get time tomorrow I'll try to put up some BWS price lists before the cashback starts. If you're in Sydney, buy beer instead. There's hardly any good wine available.

I don't think ACT is great, I once went through every store there as my best friend lives there but I struggled to find much.

Unfortunately, plenty of people buy during the clearance stage. They don't know any better, or happy to save $10 on RRP.

Exactly

I only found a single wine down to 50% that I wanted, I think in a few months it'll be different if anything's left.

However, 40% is still 40% discount.
