Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Based on a $246 (inc GST) purchase resulting pending $49.20, it's uncapped - purchase included a bottle of Penfolds 389 at $86 bringing it down to $68.80.
yeah I also picked up a bottle of bin 389 along with 2 bottles of Collector Marked Tree Shiraz (for about $17 a bottle).

Mine included GST. Remains to be seen if it is adjusted later but looks all good so far.

This may be of interest to some - works out well after 20% cash back:

Delivery included so $49. I think the bottle looks like this (from the Vinomofo website) - not quite so "big/heavy". I think it's their summit shiraz, not on their website. ~$4 / bot can't be all bad though, right?

I took a punt on the 2018. For those who try, can't stack with the 2000 points for $20 signup reward.

I got six heavy bottles and six normal bottles, the cork is suspiciously light for a 7 year old shiraz…

Sounds like the mix pack they offered. 2016 (left, Coonawarra) & 2018 (right, Barossa). Management (ownership?) changed in 2018 per the website.

I have 12 bottles of 2018 Barossa .

This has an agglomerate cork with only very slight staining for 5 year old wine.

Wine itself was ok but nothing like the description when the supposedly same wine was sold by vinomofo. Medium red color, light body, very low tannins, zero oak and slightly sweet fruit but 15%abv.

Overall not unpleasant but a bit strange and different to what I would normally drink or expect from Barossa Shiraz.

How was the Coonawarra version ?

What were you expecting on the cork? From the photo it looks as one would expect of a good work.

I got the same, will crack one tonight.
Medium red doesn't excite me that much, that's why I didn't go for the Coonawarra version.
Your description reminds me of a 2011 Schilds estate.

What do you mean by a heavy bottle as opposed to normal? Perhaps a term I'm unaware of.
Have a look at the pic. Thick glass.

The wine itself - jury is still out. I opened one yesterday, it was a bit warm, and according to my wife, “spicy”. In the fridge overnight, back to room temp now and it’s going well with a pizza. It’s inoffensive, but I would have been disappointed if I had paid $20.

The light in the photo wasn’t great, here’s one with a different background. Thank the new iPhone.

Powell & Son Riverside Grenache - Mataro - Shiraz | Vivino - Free Shipping on Vivino, which makes the Powell & Sons offers pretty sharp.

I haven't tried the Blend Shiraz 2020, but the Grenache Blend is cracking value

The discount is stupid on this one too, and looks to be free shipping on a single bottle which is very odd

Vivino has a very strange mix of wines, way too many imports with made up RRPS for mine
