Looks good but they've been trying to move it for ages (possibly not racing out as halliday gave it a shocker rating)6 of the Reynella 2016 Cab Sav for $144 is a mighty deal...?

I did return it, tasted completely flatLooks good but they've been trying to move it for ages (possibly not racing out as halliday gave it a shocker rating)
... and how fascinating - I'm sure halliday rated it 87 (I saw this when I got some in a mixed box a while back and checked it) but now the winecompanion entry says 92 with a tasting note from Nick Godwin from 2021, a year that doesn't match with the 'date tasted' field in the main entry (2017). I smell a total rat!I did return it, tasted completely flat
Hmmm....selling for $30 in quite a few places and the lowest rating for Vivino that year...wondering if I should just ring and cancel. Is it worth $24?... and how fascinating - I'm sure halliday rated it 87 (I saw this when I got some in a mixed box a while back and checked it) but now the winecompanion entry says 92 with a tasting note from Nick Godwin from 2021, a year that doesn't match with the 'date tasted' field in the main entry (2017). apologies for causing any offence, but you gave no indication of whether you had actually searched or not, and unfortunately these days some seem to expect everything to be spoon-fed to them - anyway, i'm surprised that they're still available
I had a bottle a little while ago - I thought it was fine but certainly not amazing or worth anything near its RRP. Probably worth $20-$25.Hmmm....selling for $30 in quite a few places and the lowest rating for Vivino that year...wondering if I should just ring and cancel. Is it worth $24?
I'd cancel it if you can. Life is too short to drink a subpar wine and these deals are keep on coming!Hmmm....selling for $30 in quite a few places and the lowest rating for Vivino that year...wondering if I should just ring and cancel. Is it worth $24?
It's 2020 vintage. I haven't had the 2020 Backwell but 2020 Barossa wasn't a good vintage so Id leave that one alone.Per the deal above on Cellar One St Hallet Blackwell Shiraz at $26.40 is about as good as it gets on that perennial favourite of this forum. I'll definitely be picking up a case or two.

2021 in half bottles? It's 2020 vintage. I haven't had the 2020 Backwell but 2020 Barossa wasn't a good vintage so Id leave that one alone.
The 2011 Blackwell was magnificent imo - I picked some 2020 up a while ago as I figure it is worth the riskIt's 2020 vintage. I haven't had the 2020 Backwell but 2020 Barossa wasn't a good vintage so Id leave that one alone.
Saw that. Not quite as cheap at $17 for a 1/2. I'd probably buy that if it was 6 bottles rather than 12.2021 in half bottles?
less 20% makes them $13.60 ea, or $27.20 for 750ml equivalentSaw that. Not quite as cheap at $17 for a 1/2. I'd probably buy that if it was 6 bottles rather than 12.
A quick check of usual sources for vintage reports suggests it was just fine? Consensus everywhere i looked is lower yields but quality still high? Good enough for me at a bargain priceIt's 2020 vintage. I haven't had the 2020 Backwell but 2020 Barossa wasn't a good vintage so Id leave that one alone.
The rating I use is a 6 out of 10 for 2020. It's a private source, with no industry vested interest. 2019 and 2021 are 8/10. By comparison the 2011 Barossa vintage was rated 5/10. The 2020 may be a decent version of a pretty good wine as was 2011 in Steady's opinion but for me given I haven't tried it, I ain't buying 1/2 dozen 2020s because of uncertainty of quality and cellar potential of a wet vintage that I won't drink for 5+ years.A quick check of usual sources for vintage reports suggests it was just fine? Yes, realise that. Nothing at all wrong with that deal. I'd jump at 6 x 375ml at that price. I don't often buy full half dozens unless they scream at me these days given the cellar stocks.less 20% makes them $13.60 ea, or $27.20 for 750ml equivalent

It's not my rating, it's someone who publishes personal ratings from personal tasting for "members", 2021 is rated 8/10. I don't have the 2022 Barossa red rating as yet (above was a typo : 2022 should read 2021 (now edited)What do you rate 2021?
I've spoken to numerous top end producers and viticulturists who claim the trio of 2018, 2019 and 2020 were a miracle run of near perfect vintages in the Barossa. Add 2021 on top as also excellent, but with at least 2x the yield (therefore perfect from a producers POV as = more $$).It's 2020 vintage. I haven't had the 2020 Backwell but 2020 Barossa wasn't a good vintage so Id leave that one alone.
