Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I've spoken to numerous top end producers and viticulturists who claim the trio of 2018, 2019 and 2020 were a miracle run of near perfect vintages in the Barossa. Add 2021 on top as also excellent, but with at least 2x the yield (therefore perfect from a producers POV as = more $$).
Guess there are and will be many varied opinions on this.
Opinions will vary and we choose what/who we place more faith in. I generally don't buy wine to drink in the short term. I don't buy much SA or Vic 2020 wine but obviously people can like and buy what suits them. I just have less faith in the vested interests in the industry than the unaligned and people I personally trust. I don't place any store in /100 point rating wine scores by any Australian "critics" of Australian wine and their thousands of 96+ point wines.

apologies for causing any offence, but you gave no indication of whether you had actually searched or not, and unfortunately these days some seem to expect everything to be spoon-fed to them - anyway, i'm surprised that they're still available
Ah jeez in the end i missed my (potentially underwhelming vintage) blackwells as i didn't realise the code would only work yesterday! went to check out first thing this morning and its been turned off

It was supposed to run until 16 October, but I guess shut early due to Ozbargain traffic.

I mostly try before I buy and I buy a lot of South Australian reds. Including non-SA wines, I bought 500+ bottles from 2018, 300+ from 2019 and less than 120 from 2020. So that's my ranking of those vintages. I've stopped buying from all those vintages and am busy picking out the best I can afford of the excellent 2021 vintage, which, from tastings so far, I rank ahead of those others, by a big margin compared to 2020. The numerous 2021 reds my tasting groups have tried so far have been the most consistently ripe and balanced wines we've seen on a very long time.

Great reviews of vintages people. I always am skeptical of the marketing rubbish that comes out every year no matter heat, wet, windy, perfect conditions. I guess if the winery said 20XX vintage is cough then they would be broke pretty quickly.
Of course, after many vertical tastings, my conclusion is a great winemaker is more important than a great vintage.

Any clues on this one? Google is not helping much.... Marchand & Burch maybe?

"Bing cherry, anise a whiff of chinotto and a sensitive touch of creamy oak to chaperone the flavours along a resounding line of mineralic length and sheer juiciness. Far from prosaic and a little hot. Yet certainly delicious." 92 Points James Halliday

I signed up to JD but am yet to be tempted. Weird as I did it out of FOMO from what looked like some ok stuff in the past. Was I plain wrong there?
