Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I have a couple of $50 QF Wine vouchers smouldering in my pocket.
QF Wine have single bottles of Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 2013 at $139, so $79 after voucher, with free delivery.
Anyone have any thoughts on whether this is a reasonable deal?

I think $79 is a fair price for meshach, but last time I checked those QF Wine vouchers had no minimum spend so were better used on lower priced single bottles.

For example you could get a bottle of this for free instead Buy de Bortoli Old Boys 21 YO Tawny | Qantas Wine

Yes, I get what you’re saying, but…
I still want to use the vouchers on products that I want.
I don’t have any use for the Tawny, and the other wines I’ve seen as single bottles priced just over $50 are unfamiliar to me and of uncertain value.

I think the real issue is where the QF Wine listed prices are.
It appears that many items are listed higher than the street prices regularly available.
So the actual received value of the voucher varies accordingly.

I got some 2013 Meshach for $73 from Vinomofo a little while ago. I think any price in the $70s is good. Of course, even lower is better :p

Veuve also $64 at Coles if you have any Flybuys boosters (20% off liquor at checkout until 31 October).

Am I missing something as $139 minus $50 is $89 no?

Delivery price is high at $22 but there is a pick up option

Maybe I have missed something, but why are you posting about TWC being 21.3%? I assume you are referring to buying gift cards on TWC with an 8.8% rebate, and then buying the wine on TWC with TopCashreward 12.5% rebate.

Cashrewards does not pay a rebate for purchases of giftcards on the TWC website - first bullet point on CR for TWC states that gift cards are ineligible.

Have you successfully received a CR rebate recently for TWC gift card purchases?
yes, i have, but if you're worried about them not paying 8.8%, then use TopCashback for 12.5% cashback with no gift card exclusions :)

I'm awaiting a response. I think I deserve a 'serves you right, foolish greedy idiot', but we'll see...

A return and credit would be a semi-disaster as not only would I have to face the hassle of arranging return but the main reason I'm in this pickle at all is because I had to find a way to spend a $90 TWC credit from their last episode of overhyping some objectively awful wine (a weird and undrinkable Bannockburn blend)!
why the rush to spend the credit, rather than instead maybe wait for another free delivery promotion?

So, not sure this is the right thread but not sure where else to post it. I was gifted this bottle, unaware of the brand I googled it and noticed the spelling of Vally in the label is not quite right. Then in cellartracker, same incorrect spelling, but a different bottle shape. On the company website it is spelt correctly. No point copying a brand nobody has heard of, thoughts on this just being quality control? E7856E53-7570-4CC1-BC82-C659F6BEF214.jpeg

Chinese owned made for export stuff with ridiculous prices and likely just a QC issue. The website looks like it was written by a kid

Has anyone tried to contact Dan’s lately? Seems like all phone numbers for stores have been taken down and the customer support number directs you to the website. Live chat has been unavailable for 4 days. I want to cancel an order but it seems to be impossible….
