Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

So, I bought a bottle of '14 grant burge meshach at the last carpe diem. I see langtons are selling it for $99, which looks like less than other years. Wondering if it's not such a good example. Was 2014 a poor year in the Barossa (Langtons has a gap in the ratings and Halliday didn't score the meshach that year)? Anyone got any view for best drinking?
I think it should be ok - 95 Point Rated - Andrew Caillard MW Vintage Journal

Very deep colour, starting to show development in its hue but retaining a good amount of purple in the meniscus; the bouquet is very complex and mellow, earthy and dark-to-red fruited, the palate is full-bodied and firm with ample tannins providing support. Stacks of vanilla, chocolate and mocha with a trace of cigarbox starting up. There's been a lot of oak employed here. Impressive plushness and character too.

I'd say would be fine to drink it now and keep it for 10 more years at least. It will probably not be a fruit bomb given the vintage year and be on a more elegant side I'd hazard to guess.

I assume it works if you put the St Peters in cart as your $50 spend then apply the code?
No, if you qualified, you put any wine(s) $50 or over in your cart and apply the coupon. And a freebie St Peters will pop up in your cart. It is 2020, I wish it was 2019

This $50 spend sounds like an attached string that wasn't mentioned up front. Boooooooooooooooooo!

I believe it was mentioned upfront.

I guess they are not twisting anyone’s arms to participate in the promo.

I truly don't remember seeing any spend criteria at the time they were saying free St Peters for signing up three friends. But I accept I'm very capable of missing stuff

Langton's and Vintec have some kind of special 'carpe diem' event going on. Pretty good price on the Mount Pleasant OP&OH 2019.
I paid $45 per bottle for the 2018 dead arm for a dozen from langton about 1 month ago so the current deal is much better value with the 2 bottles of st henri. Already had 2 bottles- it's fine, but somehow I think Darrys isnt as great as I remember them to be.

that is also tempting, but is the dead arm any good? I've only ever tried the 2010 in the past few years and it seems to be a very savoury, brooding, charry wine with less fruit that I expected.

Hmm. My fomo was activated there for a moment but '18 dead arm getting 92 from winecompanion ain't a good sign!

Aargh. Then I see 96 from James Suckling and I'm in a funk again!!!
