Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

My Moss Wood is arriving tomorrow so we can test it on the weekend. The 2018 ran out way too quickly……

Honestly- at $45/ bottle for the dead arm I think that is about the real value for it. I actually did the paid tasting at the cube last year and the way the staff were raving on and on about the 2018 Dead Arm, one would have thought they would have sold out of it. 8 months later and the stock is being firesold through Langtons.

Dead Arm for some has great expression of Mclaren Shiraz. For me I agree with the previous comment that it lacks varietal characteristics which is what every flagship wine label should represent if not a blend. But hey- it is still grippier and has staying power compared to other Darry Shirazs of the same vintage. Again- I am not a massive Darrys fanboy though.

New pack from Cellar One, tempting as it includes the Old Block

nice - also 2021 St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz 375ml $15/12pk (referrals, sorry $20 voucher now gone) - half-bottles are good for preserving still wine after opening :)

Hit the buy on that. Had a 20% off voucher which brought it down to $160 for 3. Seemed like a deep discount too good to refuse for a 97 JH. Quite the packaging too.

Any other recommendations worth picking up on cellar one?

I had my 2013 couple of days ago. It had a different colour label - it was black

Was that from Dan Murphy as a hidden label? I think I did too.
Quite possibly...I was trying to remember where they came from, I have a vague recollection that someone rang me for that deal which means it wouldn't have been Dan's, but it definitely wasn't VM.

I got a couple of '13s from DM as a hidden label
