Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Another one of those brands who set ridiculous prices for export then trying to offload excess stock in the domestic market. JD sells too much rubbish these days, very hard to find a true bargain there.
Agree
I literally unsubscribed from JD 3 days ago

Couldn't resist this deal for Dalwhinnie's 2014 Moonambel Shiraz. I bought the 2013 at the winery (it really is a spectacular winery to visit in such a beautiful part of victoria) and just had it a couple of months ago, and loved it! Picked up a dozen to share with some friends.

Posting it here despite the deal being posted over in the Vinomofo thread, as it's from the most excellent Nicks

I agree, I really like this shiraz. But is it drink now til 2028 ? Or 2039 ?

Feel like the former at most. I don't think this is a wine intended to be put down for 20+ years. I've purchased for drinking this winter. the 2013 was great, so I'm sure this is in it's prime but I doubt it's got another 5+ years in it at peak condition.

Best bets are
2020 Cherubino Caves Chardonnay $55 down to $20. Previous vintages very good.
2005 Clarendon Hills Grenache $55 down to $12 . Got this last time. In good condition, tertiary aromas soft fruit and drink now.
I just purchased this, from what I heard this is meant to be a 'staff only sale'?

Langton's carpe diem is on now
Is this on the same time every month?

besides Peccavi chardonnay and Evoi Satyr from last month, my main picks are:
  • 2005 CLARENDON HILLS Kangarilla Vineyard Old Vine Grenache $12
  • 2021 ALKINA Kin Semillon $25
see screenshots below for more, including Jane Anson’s Inside Bordeaux $125

Shhh! Seems to be some time in the morning on the last Thursday of the month
Good to know as I called my client liaison at Langtons and he said 'You never spoke to me about this'

Tahbilk offers 20% off with code MAYDAYSALE.

Works with some nice packs like:

Marsanne At Its Finest | Six Pack

Shiraz At Its Finest | Six Pack

Cabernet At Its Finest | Six Pack
Remember minimum $200 purchase (before discount) to get free shipping and 20% off.
Not as good as the 3+3 offer but pretty decent to get the discounted packs and free shipping.

So 2 packs of the marsanne packs equates roughly $13 for normal one, $15 for museum and $25 for 1927. 4 bottles each.

Or if you want just the 1927, you can go 5x1927+1 bottle cheapy ones or the cane cut. Roughly around $30+ for the 1927.
