Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Possibly Schild Estate Edel Shiraz? It's a difficult one.
Thanks!. I wish they have a bit more info rather than just Barossa Shiraz. That's a good one with the same RRP.
If it's schild, I'm less inclined to buy in with their generally high RRP

So I've had the $420 Wildcard sitting in my cart since the other week.
Just got an email reminding me that I've "left something in your cart!", with a picture and link to the WB Platinum Medlands 2021.
Now I know it was pretty obvious that that's what was, but unashamedly disclosing it is a bit 🤔

JD Cellars was flogging the legendary Hewitson Cask 66 yesterday. There is clearly no shame in the mystery wine business. Has anyone actually tried this wine?

I'm not on his list anymore, but he first offered it at $50 in September 2024, offer #853.
My post at my place from back then:
"I bought a couple of these at TWC with the last 10% off code, so $54pb delivered as I still get free freight on small orders.

I tried a sample with my Coravin on Wednesday night and it looked pretty good, the best balance of the recent Hewitson wines I've tried.

I pulled the cork tonight, good looking natural cork, high quality but not of great length. The wine weighs in at 13.5%, a bit below my comfort level, but there is nothing under-ripe on the nose or palate, no green/herbaceous notes or hard edges of slightly under-ripe tannins like some others. The fruit is nicely ripe in the modern Barossa style, not lush and full like the old style, but nicely done with a frame of fine, slightly chalky tannin, unobtrusive oak and a clean finish of moderate length.

It's a pretty decent $50 wine if you like the modern Barossa style, but a $450 RRP is just ludicrous."

From the Wine Collectives Wine Advisors Weekley Offers:

For something extra special, the 2019 Cape Barren Rare Bird Shiraz is an opulent, full-bodied masterpiece. This 97-point gem is normally $150 RRP, but right now, it’s just $35, at 76% off the RRP. A standout in our recent tasting, it’s a collector’s wine at an everyday price.

Any knowledge?

$30 on Winestar, maybe elsewhere as well.
I thought the 2018 Rare Bird was a better wine than the 2019.
"a little disappointing compared to the 2018, the fruit seems good, but not up to the 2018 high standard and is struggling under a big hit of drying tannin which carries to a drying slightly furry finish."
