Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Not 100% what you asking for confirmation of here. If you are asking can you use the promo to buy a $100 gift card and get the $15 the answer is that I received the mail almost straight away that I was getting $15 off.
Thanks, that's what I was after. The t&cs said no gift card purchases, but that was just for physical ones last time round.

Amex doesnt seem to be able to enforce exclusions unless the offer terms make you use a specific link to redeem (as with the VA holiday offer). If the card spends the specified sum,it will trigger the credit

Based on the "Halliday" spiel on the Dan's site, its the Wills Domain Cuvee d'Elevage Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon.

Correct, this statement about giftcards seems to appear a lot in T&C's but personally have never seen it enforced. My understanding is that the fact you have purchased a giftcard does not in fact form part of the information sent in the payment message to Amex and hence they cant enforce the restriction. YMMV.

Quick scan of Wine Companion shows it to be Wills Domain Cuvee d'Elevage, as they've lifted the review word-for-word.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Wondering if I should pick up a couple.

Langton's has a cellar release of some fairly good wines in a 6 pack for $399.

It's made up of the following with some comparable prices for those varieties - although most of the vintages mentioned are hard to source other than via auctions.

Mount Mary Quintet 2005 - $140 - $179
Cullen Diana Madeline 2007 - $110 - $130
Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz - $95 - $115
d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz 2005 - $95 - $110
Katnook Odyssey Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 - $95
Elderton Command Shiraz 2005 - $95

FYI for those who were interested in the dan's secret selection Margaret cab - i went to order online this morning and the discount had gone, with price reverting to $75. I called up and apparently the offer email said valid until 24/3 so they gave me the price on a phone order - no cash back benefit unfortunately.

Another random thing, I used a gift card to pay for it but they said they couldn't leave the order unattended at my house when using a gift card, something to do with fraud...

Same if you use the website, if you order using just a gift card you cant give authority to leave.
