Hi All Thought I'd share this one:
https://www.nicks.com.au/2013-warrabilla-limited-release-parola-s-durif
(their notes, ahem 17.5% ABV - the zinfandel a mere 17%)
‘A behemoth of a wine and a potential legend in the making.’
Only produced in perfect vintages this is the first Parola’s Durif made since the 2009. Matured in 100% new American puncheons the wine has a magnificent glass staining colour showing paint like cling to the walls of the glass. An impenetrable inky black core with a very deep black dark purple hue. Black cherry and liquorice aromas are followed by hints of dark chocolate, black plum, vanillin cedar and spice. Explosive, opulent and penetrating with vintage port like concentration and density, yet not a trace of heat apparent. The balance is impeccable for such a high octane beast. Almost achingly intense flavours of black and morello cherry, liquorice and black plum overwhelm the senses; nuances of dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice follow. The sheer body and power of the wine threatens to fall over - if not for support by tannins the size of Conan the Barbarian. The aftertaste of black and morello cherries, liquorice, dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak is utterly profound. A riveting Durif experience that will no doubt go 10 years plus.

Impentrable inky black core with a bright dark crimson purple hue. Ripe black cherry, black plum and liquorice aromas are intermixed with vanillin oak overtones and spice end notes. Huge in weight and richness with palate staining flavours of ripe black cherry and liquorice over some dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice. Incredible authority and depth with velvety yet sturdily built tannin structure. Long aftertaste of ripe black cherries, black plum, liquorice and spicy vanillin oak.

Both $34.99.

Hi there

I'm just wondering whether todays 6-pack offering from Dan's is worth a punt? https://www.danmurphys.com.au/produ...92&mid=Offer_20160205_Monday_22392&rid=370825
I see that Shadrach retails at $100 so it could be great or 5 duds in the mix with it.

Keen to hear peoples thoughts & thanks for any advice
This seems a very good valued deal at the $120, and I don't think I would call most of the others duds either. A couple are average of course, but there are some interesting ones here. Considering I need the Cab to make up a set of the Burge Divine Trilogy, I am in.
I have had plenty of south Australian 09's and have been very impressed,

You have to take the advice of someone like Wozza with his diversification. A twelve pack from the Fo is a big commitment, whereas a six pack variety like this one presents a great buying opportunity. Sure there are a couple of fifteen buckers there, and the st hallets reviews I think are probably too good for the coin, yet it's not going to be a dog. There are a couple of thirty buckers to balance it out, the Blass reviews sound very promising. But besides all that, I still stick to the twenty bucks a bottle purchase price, so I hope the Burge delivers in spades. You can in the future at least sit down and hopefully enjoy a classic wine for twenty bucks. That's what we all like to do.

I enjoy reading the advice of the multitude of great people on this site, it really is hugely helpful for these & FO purchases. I agree completely, at $20 per bottle its a great deal & nice to have the Burge on stand by for a special occasion plus i'm sure there will be a few pleasant surprises in amongst the others! Long may these kind of deals continue!

Haha Simon @ MyWineGuy sure knows how to create some intrigue with his Mystery offerings..

Mystery South Australian Shiraz
RRP - Just shy of $200 My Wine Guy Price - $74.99

This is the zenith wine in the portfolio of this brand, and it will be a name that many of you are familiar with. In fact most of you probably have this label already in your cellar.

But that is all we can tell you. It has incredible reviews and scores, nudging up towards perfection, it also has a vintage (current release but with plenty of bottle age) and comes from a very well known wine region.

That is it! No more can be said in this email, and we cannot even advertise the wine on our site, even as one of our Mystery offerings.

We can tell you the name of the wine, but only through a private phone call.

Could it be the the Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 2009...?

(based primarily on RRP of $182 on MWG site, but other details match also)

I took up two of these, seems to be a good deal. A few quaffers a couple to drink and enjoy, then the Grant Burge to lay down.

Has anybody noticed that you change your nearest store location and the price can change quite dramatically as an example look up Penfolds bin 389, choose for example Geelong Vic, then try Willoughby NSW you'll get two different prices yet can order them for delivery for the discounted price.

It's been noted before - seems that when a local store does a price match, that discounted price is reflected online, but only if you select that store as your "local store"

In this case though, maybe there's a regional premium for the Geelong store?

Agree AC - this seems to be the case.

Hence good when people post here so we can take advantage.

I've just used the 1234100PROMO code in Cellar Masters picking up a $50 a bottle Chateauneuf du Pape for $22.50 a bottle (6 pack) with click and collect from my local BWS. And then there's the cash back on top of just over 7%:

Domaine Font De Michelle 2011

Nice spot. My net price per bottle is $18.25 after 9% cash back and paid using a 10% discounted WISH card.

Cellarmasters can't fulfil the Chateauneuf de Pape that I ordered, so order cancelled. Having paid with a WISH gift card has presented them with a dilemma on how to refund!!

YES seems to have gone very quiet - am interested to see if those who made multiple purchases actually had them honoured.

I edited my post above. I thought posts had been deleted, but it's just too early in the morning and I'm a plonker.

Cellarmasters are still showing limited stock of said wine, but presumably that stock is allocated to those who placed orders sooner than me.

It was odd though, as the order never progressed passed the "Received" status and I had to call them to find what was going on. I smell a rat.

I got called by Cellarmasters saying that they couldn't fulfil my order, even though I got an email a week ago saying it was on its way
