Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Furthermore, the Dannys $199 with Meschach included photograph before seems to have nice wines. What is someones opinion of them, and what would be the dud(s)?
I don't think there's a dud in there honestly. I've only had the Two Hands so far (which was v nice) but am confident in the rest from what I've read.

Is there anyone taking the punt or plunge on Red Pack #9 with the known Katnook Odyssey?

Agreed - there's the Meshach obviously, 3 x 96 pointers, 1 x 94 points, Torbreck Sporran ($45 at Langtons) and Two Hands (I had the Angels Share, I think someone else got the Gnarly Dudes). I haven't tried them yet but everything I can find about them is positive

BWS may be doing their semi regular clear out.

Got some half priced fortified wine at Oran Park BWS tonight.

Could be worth a look at your local.

At Graysonline CTEC20 20% off sale I just tumbled in to 6 of 2011 Laurance Icon for under $20 per bottle with free delivery!
I was there from memory in November at Margaret River and loved the place: beautiful landscaping, architecture and art; wines not too bad either.
The bottles are a strange shape which seems to preclude horizontal stacking.
On a different note I'll have to sneak into my local BWS Dr Ralph.

Graysonline eBay CTEC sale makes the Brokenwood Graveyard tempting, but trying to resist spending on wine online when I am heading out to the Hunter Valley next weekend

Dan Murphy Mystery deal #9: Katnook Odyssey, Parker cab sav, West Cape Howe Book Ends cab sav, Capel Vale cab sav, Spinifex Esprit shiraz, D'Arenberg Ironstone Pressings GSM, St Hallett Mattschoss shiraz.

Dan Murphy Mystery deal #9: Katnook Odyssey, Parker cab sav, West Cape Howe Book Ends cab sav, Capel Vale cab sav, Spinifex Esprit shiraz, D'Arenberg Ironstone Pressings GSM, St Hallett Mattschoss shiraz.

Thanks pronews I was tossing up buying this pack.

Do you know the above because you have received the pack? If so, it appears dan's email on this pack was a bit misleading. The email confirmed the odyssey (2001) and the mattschoss (2012). I can also match (with email quote in italics):

McLaren Vale GSM 2011 — 96 points Campbell Mattinson: presumably the ironstone pressings, although it was the 2012 vintage that got the 96 score from winefront/CM. Winefront (gary walsh) gave the 2011 vintage an 88
Great Southern (WA) Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 — 95 points James Halliday: Assume this is West Cape Howe Book Ends, haven't been able to double check the Halliday review. Campbell Mattison gave it an 88 on wine front
Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 — 90 points Gary Walsh: Pronews is this the Parker Terra Rossa Cab Sauv that you received? If so, this matches. If it is just the regular Cab Sauv then Gary Walsh gave that an 87.

The email also had:

Beechworth (VIC) Shiraz 2010 — 94 points James Halliday
Barossa Valley SGM 2011 — 93 points Dan Murphy's Wine Pane

which don't match to the Spinifex Esprit (Barossa) and Capel Vale Cabernet.

Don't think I will be buying this pack after all!

Unfortunately the Filsell has gone up more than $3- a bottle since yesterday making is note quite as attractive :(

I got some of the '13 back in November from WM for less than $15 so I am happy to wait for a better deal on the '14 a bit closer to $20

Exactly, I have the '13 from WM for the same cost last year and it's difficult to jump on the '14 at this price level! :(

I've bought a case of Wynns Black Label Shiraz and the interesting thing is, they'll be shipping the new vintage out after Wynnsday in August.

It appears the meschach deal is the better of our two deals.

Many of the regular brands have been increased in price for the sale.
Teusner Bilmore Shiraz 2014 was around $20 last week (and $18.99 at Winestar still), now listed at $26.

If your price point on the Bilmore is $20 ($14.72 after discounts) I was searching when the email first landed and found this
