Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

The Mount Pleasant Philip Shiraz is $16/$12 at my local BWS (only one of the three shops keep it), none in stock but the next shipment is due in 7 days.

They couldn't tell me if it was the '13 or '14 coming in or what they had last though.

Unfortunately it was the '13 that turned up :(

Hi electrotek,

Firstly, please let me apologise for any issues you have faced with your Winery Lane order.

Cam and I are working hard to resolve any issues we are notified of. We know there have been issues with 'automated' emails going astray and due to the overwhelming response to our father's day promotion we had to reorder wine from several of our winery partners which has caused delays in getting orders out. We are also aware of several 'picking' errors and are putting steps in place to avoid a repeat.

We accept our processes need to get better and they are.

Please feel free to email me directly - steve (at) winerylane.com.au and I will personally work with you to resolve the issue you have.

Sincerely,
Steve

Thanks AnonymousCoward. We have checked our webforms and can assure everyone they work perfectly. However, as you pointed out, we have been responding to emails within minutes / hours of receipt. In many instances the only delay has been in us receiving the order tracking details to send back. Our general email address is: info(at)winerylane.com.au and we will respond ASAP!

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks Steady. We were overwhelmed. As are a brand new business we completely underestimated the stock levels and required several re-stocks. This created delays in some orders going out. We have been working hard to learn from these issues and build the stock levels to more appropriate levels with a view to minimising any future out of stocks.

Cheers,
Steve

Good morning vedder50. You are right, it is three of us. As I explained in my email to you, we had several issues with emails, stock levels and also with the original email to you. I have spoken with Chris and we all agree he needed to provide you with a more thorough response.

Please accept my public apology.

Sincerely,
Steve

Could have thrown out a "Dear Everyone" post perhaps ;)

BWS Macquarie Centre have 2 bottles of Pipers Brooks Pinot Noir 2013 down to $20
in 6's and some Gramps sitting there near it. They've got all the deleted lines sitting in the back of the store.

Steve, I'm still waiting on a response to my email of 21/9 and two subsequent phone calls regarding the 2 bottles that were missing from my recent order...admittedly, you did respond to my original email on 15/9 to say you were looking into the matter...heard nothing since..

I just got this from WD

a-250-shiraz-a-30yo-tawny-a-grand-cru-champagne-walk-into-a-bar-sep-offer-3

Have been keen to try this Bernard Remy Grand Cru they have been pushing and the 2014 Pertaringa Yeoman is appealing, if jsut to see what it is like. I love the Handpicked Barossa Shiraz which I got from VM a while back and they have somehow popped back up with 2013 Hamilton Centurion, although I'll have to check to make sure it is indeed the 2013 vintage. The Curtis Tawny is a bit of a gamble, but a 30yr old rare tawny? Can't really knock it, can't be awful with a $100 retail! Well worth a look

Dry Dubai has got off to a flying start as I snuck in:

the Innocent Bystander Mea Culpa Yarra Valley Syrah 2014

View attachment 79913
On Cellar Tracker and Vivino I posted the following note:

http://www.vivino.com/users/warren-dav/reviews/53187958

2014 Innocent Bystander Shiraz Mea Culpa Yarra Valley, Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Yarra Valley - CellarTracker

"Wow. No wonder this Côte-Rôtie meets minimal wine intervention Syrah from the Giant Steps Tarraford Vineyard, (Yarra Valley) won the best Shiraz in show at the Trevor Mast Trophy and the Yarra Valley Wine Awards, in 2015.

The nose is sweet and deeply scented with plums, raspberries, strawberries, Provence herbs, smoked meat, violets and spices. The palate is densely packed with those concentrated flavours, but exudes such finesse and a velvet chocolatey finish.

Years ahead of it. A Wozza 96/100 (4.4) from me
."

I reckon this Syrah in 8 odd years time will be an absolute cracker. A big recommendation from me if you like your Côte-Rôtie style of wine.

$39.95 @ myCellars - was $54.95 - pm me for free delivery code :)

Was the 2012 a VM black market deal?

Affirmative.

I paid more at cellar door with BC20 and co one day, but that receipt has gone to the abyss, so no idea what "more" was. IIRC you get some kind of discount for bigger lots online, but I haven't ordered from them for a while now.
