Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Cellarmasters have very kindly arranged to send me a new case of Maverick as the original one could not be located by BWS. And I don't have to collect it.

Did you receive a new code as well?

They gave me a $50 one when something similar happened to me last year

Noon's Mailing List out today - 6 bottle limit on all - pricing hasn't changed

$17 for the Rose is a steal, $12 for 12 Bells = Bargain, and the Eclipse for $29 must be one of Australia's bargain wines - glad the Vintec has arrived!

Dropped in to BWS today to collect and they did not have the paper work. Happy for me to get the case out of their hair though. ;)

RE - Cleanskin GR11, 95 points, $50/6 at DM

Tasted this 2014 cleanskin - Langhorne Creek Shiraz - tonight, nothing to put me
off it so far, will see how it goes tomorrow.

DM's had it open on the sampling table and my first thought in comparison with
tonights taste is that it benefited from being open for a while.

Generally speaking, thought plenty was happening in the mouth.

Xanadu 2013 Cabernet Sauv https://www.crackawines.com.au/product/2013-xanadu-mr-cabernet-sauvignon?scrollto=tabs

down to around $25 a bottle delivered using voucher code PARTY for $30 off + 5.60% cash rewards.

Two weeks ago I returned from a week's tasting in Margs and this was perhaps the best mid tier Cabernet I tasted all week. Have just boomed on this and glad I neglected to buy any at $37 as it was on the cellar door.

Great wine and bargain at $25..

I know Cracka has a 50% offer a couple of weeks ago but pretty sure this wine wasn't available then.

Couldn't agree more - I tasted the 2013 Xanadu Cab Sauv at the Sydney Royal this year and it was a standout for me too. I'd boom on this but I'm on a buying ban at the moment.

Great spotting Warlock. This has serious pedigree.

You're not wrong BF, so much so we could enter it at Crufts! Like many others on here the CM blitzkrieg has wiped out much of my wine-buying ammo unfortunately, otherwise I'd seriously consider lashing out on this one. I can feel my palate shifting inexorably towards the West away from the Barossan shiraz to the Margaret River Cab Sav, some of the most satisfying wine I've enjoyed this year have come from the region like the Artefacts 2012 Cab Sav http://www.driftwoodwines.com.au/wp...twood-Artifacts-2012-Cab-Sauv-TastingNote.pdf thanks Warlock for tempting me....

have noticed the same shift in myself overtime.

I was just staring at a driftwood semilon in de cellar the other night. Great wine.

It was certainly my 'surprise' wine of the year thus far!

Funny that isn't it? I don't know whether they've become a bit flabby over time and that the WA wines (gross generalisation I know) are a bit more trim, taut and terrific. Churchview Estate is another one that has stood out for me especially the St John's Zinfandel although their lower tier cab sav was also delicious at only $8-9 a bottle through VM...

What are the picks atm on The Den?

What is the Pike Riesling like?

I'm looking at booming on the 2015 Stonier Pinot at about $15 a bottle delivered after the $20 welcome credit. Pikes Riesling would have been my other choice. It has a good pedigree and scores.

I jumped on the Petaluma Hanlin Hill for $17 delivered - tried it before its good drinking at that price, Pikes didn't seem much cheaper than when on special - Coriole Prosseco is good buying with extra $10 off
