NFI but I assumed prices shown on eBay store are what you pay - incl free freight with this -20% offer.

Sorry Cruiser if I made you heart skip a beat. When I searched on Langtons the Mesach you mentioned it turned up in the auction pages. I assumed you were buying at auction. ;)

So does any AFFer have knowledge of GraysOnline eBay store? Integrity of cellaring of wines with a bit of age?

Have only bought current vintages from them - those have been delivered direct from the wineries in question.
Most of the retail offerings are classed as 'new' so I guess normal retail guarantees apply. Probably best to email them to confirm.

Thanks AC - you are a legend. I did not pull the trigger on the Elderton Shiraz at $57 and the Meshach at $65 solely for that reason - I'll contact Grays morrow and get the low down - will post what I learn.

I ran into a semi retired auctioneer on the weekend in Perth and he told me Grays test the more expensive wines prior to sale. Apparently they have very good storage as well so it is less likely you will get a dud or a substitute phoney.
When you buy wine that is considered collectible you do need to be careful. As I get older I think of everything pretty much as drinking now. I just wish I had a cellar full of 707.
Have switched to Cullens Diana Madeline and some Vanya recently as the 707 has become a wealth hazard.
Will have some Silver Oak in California at the end of the month.

What's a good age (wine age) to drink Silver Oak? Does it make a difference (wine age) if it is Napa Valley or Alexandria?

More like "steal" of the year :D
Looks like the AFFers bought the whole lot. The hard copy Xmas mailout offered the No.1 gift pack but not listed on the website.
Instead now in it's place is the Penfolds 389 gift pack. CM now got the price right $150 and save $10.
It would have been the deal/steal of the decade if it's the other way round $10 and save $150. :D

Penfolds RWT at $148 at Costco is a good deal better than anywhere else so far. Of course it's top notch in the tasting 98/100

Steady I haven't tried all the Silver Oaks but I was surprised that my taste buds preferred the Alexandria. I get to try it at Ruth's Chris steakhouse and it is close enough to walk home when we are in Marina del Rey. Ruth's has a 10% off voucher that is valid from January 1st to 31st March,2017.
I tried the Napa Silver Oak by the glass so that may not have been a fair test.
With the Diana Madeline I felt it was as good as the Vanya so I will stay on the Diana.
With the 707 I have a chance of getting it at a better price but that is a work in progress.

Was not that impressed with RWT but I can see how it could ring bells for others.
