Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Anyone want to weigh in with an opinion on the Chocolate Factory deal at DM's, I've not tried any of the Zonte's before so a bit hesitant to hit "buy" https://www.danmurphys.com.au/produ...nte-s-footstep-chocolate-factory-shiraz-2015?

edit: asked the same question a little while back but thought there might be some more recent partakers of this drop...

2nd edit: rather than multiple post, similar question regarding this deal https://www.winedirect.com.au/reds-ready-to-rip-nov-offer-14? I notice it's the apparently "massive" Fountain of youth Shiraz plus a a number of other quite intriguing reds?

I was referencing the 5$ off in the same statement... nothing to do with AMEX, i don't have one...

It did seem odd that you made reference to the AMEX deal 'combined with spend $50 get $15 AMEX'

But with so many offers going around its very easy to get confused.

Hey W&D,

Happy to lend a hand with some advice! I have been a long time admirer of the Zonte's Chocolate Factory. I buy it buy the case at wine direct. I wasn't aware of the 2015 at DM's but $150 a case is outstanding! The 2012, 2013 and 2014 vintages of Chocolate Factory were sublime, so I expect this one to be no different.

RE the pack, I'd buy that dozen just for the Murray Street Shiraz! Amazing gear!

It was pm'd ;)

It appears to be generic and I guess it won't take long to get onto OB but....

Thanks Steady,

I went for....

2013 Handpicked Wines Regional Selection Eden Valley Riesling - https://www.crackawines.com.au/product/2013-handpicked-wines-regional-selection-eden-valley-riesli
The website wouldn't take the code for this - presumably because it came to less that $149 before the shipping cost was added. I tested the code on other deals that came in above $149 before shipping cost was added and the site took the code.

I got around this by calling Cracka and the guy took the $50 off for me over the phone so with the AMEX cashback it came to $72.89 for the 6 or $12.14 a bottle. I had to forego the cash rewards by doing this but hey ho.

...

That Riesling looks interesting Warlock.

Don't really need more wine but Langton's offer was too good to pass. My pick:

Halliday red mix dozen $270 (last year's mix):
3X Wynns Black Label Cab Sav 2014 (96 points).
3X Spinifex Esprit 2013 (96 points).
3X Hairloom Barossa Shiraz 2014 (95 points).
3X Hare's Chase Ironscraper Shiraz 2013 (94 points).

To get over the line I've added two 97 points Pinots:
1X Tolpuddle 2015 $68
1X Dawson & James 2014 $65

Total $403 - $200 = $203 or $14.5 per bottle.

Nice. I really like the Spinifex Esprit and Indigene. Tolpuddle should be a cracker.
