Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I'd buy the 2010 at the same price if available. Where did you buy it from as i'm not sure VM are flogging it yet

I'll doubt you'll see the 2010 on VM. It doesn't look like a domestic product, and if the '09 wasn't a success, I doubt they'll make another one. Making "$150/bottle" wine, and then having to offload it at $60/bottle doesn't do good things to your brand.

I don't see how ste? I calculate $87.73 with a $50 Voucher, 10.8% Price Pal and 5% WISH - where am I wrong pls?
$660 * 0.892 (Pricepal on undiscounted amount usually) - $50 - $25 (5% saving on $500 WISH) = $513.72.

That's $85.62pb. My initially estimate was lower because I'd included 5% WISH on the full amount rather than just the $500.

FWIW this is about the cheapest I've seen it. Think Winemarket had it around this price in one of their 20% off days around Wynnsday last year.

OK now I get it - BUT - Price Pal 10.8% rebate calculated on $618.15 and not full amount of $660 - $660 less $50 Voucher = $610 + $8.15 P & H.

So IMCAC nett outlay $526.39 / $87.73bott - still a great price.

Sorry, just checking back on my last CM/Pricepal transaction and you're absolutely right, they calculate on the value after the voucher is taken off.

Anyway, still a great price if you're into the wine!

The next [post=1618421]Langton’s Family & Friends Carpe Diem sale[/post] is on tomorrow...

As I only want a few bottles myself, I’d be interested to hear from anyone in Melbourne about doing a combined order to save paying $10 delivery :)

Either way, if you don't have the pricelist, then feel free to pm me for it

I don't have a smart phone/app and only seem to get fairly generic CM offers, I would have remembered this one!

The email looked the same (but bigger...) on the monitor ;)

I had a $50 code so was keeping my eye out for the CM promotions

Thanks Steady, can't see anything from Cellarmasters in my primary email a/c for the 19th so it might have gone into the other Gmail 'promotions' inbox, I constantly have to swap emails from wine bods back into my primary a/c as they seem to keep reverting to the other one, VM in particular......

If I have worked it out correctly, the '14 Mount Pleasant Home Paddock is ~$9.00 at CM using a $50 code, Amex statement credit and 8% cashback

Fantastic value at that price!

I also had trouble with VM emails for a few months - all fixed now.
If you have email issues, it may pay to keep an eye on these threads

Just found the time to check back through my "promotions" inbox and I did get the email on the 19th  Have now moved future communications from CM to standard inbox so we'll see what happens!

The Mount Pleasant High Paddock Shiraz is also available through epiqure - there are third party reviews on wine-searcher

High Paddock and Home Paddock are two different labels.

The "Home Paddock" is a made for Woollies line. High Paddock is normal retail offering.

Edit: it was the Home Paddock that was on sale through CM recently for ~$15/bottle (down to $11 with vouchers etc), not the High Paddock.

Well, I missed that.

I have a case of wine that is what I ordered but not what I was expecting

It's not like you are the 1st person on this planet to make a blue when ordering wine Steady.

I know a certain clown who was on here crowing about a 'bargain' he got only to have it pointed out to him by a fellow AFFer that he actually bought 375ml botts and not 750ml botts!

My first BWS clearance bounty (thank you to all that have pointed out that value can be found at BWS as I'd otherwise never go in):

2011 Moss Wood C/S x2 @ $68.25ea - my first MW C/S so hopefully it's a good vintage.
2010 Bannockburn Pinot Noir x2 @ $32.55ea (cork)
2013 Bannockburn Pinot Noir x2 @ $32.55ea
2016 Kooyong Massale Pinot Noir x 2 @ $17.33ea
2014 Mount Langi Cliff Edge x1 @ $16.3ea (last bottle otherwise would have backed up the truck)

There was a 25% off 6+ bottles on top of the clearance prices. No other discounts (eg wish).

I sympathise with those that struggle to find anything worth buying for CM.

There have been some good reports on the RedWine Bigot's site (well worth joining, BTW) of the quality of the Mount Pleasant High Paddock 2014 Shiraz. It is a for-Woolies-only wine, apparently. I can't find a 3rd party rating, but a few punters thought it was good drinking and there was some speculation that it fitted into the MP range somewhere above the MP Philip Shiraz. I haven't drunk the High Paddock but have had the 2014 Philip, after a good review from Gary Walsh at TWF, and loved it. On the "brighter" and "lighter" of the shiraz spectrum, if that's your thing.

CM's stocks of this wine (and anything else of interest) seem to evaporate whenever they have a site wide discount on. Only to magically reappear once the sale is over.

Anyway, it's on at about $20pb, is a dozen buy, and there was recently a discount offer for a little less than that.

Hopefully Alphie was referring to the Home Paddock from CM and not the High Paddock - and it ends up being an OK quaffer...
