Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

The $99 pack sounds similar to the last one, with the addition of a sparkling.

I remember you posted the contents of the $99 pack - which looked pretty good. Did Dan's offer a similar $299 pack last time as well, and if so did anyone happen to purchase one?

Only the $99 last time and the chance to win Grange rather than Dom. Seems like they are pushing for more high value sales.

The $299 pack seems to be alright, any guesses on any of the contents?
Btw I can't find the T&Cs for the competition so I don't know how they will arrange it.. and what kind of time frame. For those considering returning it, ha.

Nice mistake today from Winemarket (oh the surprise!).

They mention 12 bottles in their email, but it's actually 6. Fox Gordon Cab Temp

My dad rang me to ask a favour - could I drop by a Dans on my way to their place tonight and pick up a dozen Stonier Pinot Noir as he's got a members offer.

No prizes for guessing what I'm drinking tonight :D ;)

Had my first Crackawines experience this week.

Three orders on three different accounts (parents, partner and mine) to take advantage of the Amex promo.

Order 1 - one case of Richmond Grove Chardonnay. Delivered was one case of a generic Shiraz

Order 2 - six bottles of the secret Shiraz that is apparently a St Hallet of some description. Delivered was twelve bottles of Cottle Bay Merlot.

Order 3 - case of Grant Burge Shiraz. Thus far hasn't arrived (I'm curious to see what shows up!).

Not a great first impression. Might just stick with Dans in future

Not so impressed with Dan's either recently! Last week I ordered 12 bottles of the Taylors Reserve Shiraz and did it over the phone to make sure they sent the correct vintage (last time they sent an older vintage and I had to go back and exchange them all). Despite the call centre calling the store to check that they had the stock I wanted I ended up being sent 12 bottles of incredibly ****ty Jacob's Creek reserve.

Will be doing some more bottle swapping malarky again. Sigh.

Argh don't get me started on Dan sending wrong vintages after specific requests to either send the displayed vintage or nothing at all. Only made a single purchase from Cracka, Anvers Brabo 2013 for under a tenner, great wine and no issues with the delivery.

Has anyone picked up any bargains from GraysOnline ? I am never certain of the quality and suspect some wineries use them to dump their rubbish
I've bought a bit from GOL as well as VM and others, my view is that the GOL reds that are classed as 'new' (not 'cellared' which are very good) are heat damaged, lacking their expected complexity and often a bit cloudy. I have returned quite a few cases citing this reason without any dispute.

VM on the other hand have been true to form.

Greys take back auction items? This seems contrary to the entire auction notion.

They do offer this option in their T & C's but I have not tried it

Some of those were very nice wines, like you I suspect they are over the hill but if any are really cheap (and you don't already have a fullish cellar like me) may be worth a punt. When I looked they weren't really cheap though!

Same thing happened here. Oh well will give them a buzz and get them to refund it.

New Dan Murphy Secret Deals are out. The Western Australian Red Blend is the Wills Domain Bitza 2010 for $20 each and the Mclaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon is the Shingleback The Davey Estate 2011 for $15 per bottle.

Both are delivery only but look like they can be added as singles

To their credit, after a few days they emailed back and said they'd send the correct order and not bother picking the cats p**s up. I guess I can use it for cooking or something.
