Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Now $11.45 delivered after also price-matching Dan Murphy's $31.50 :)

EDIT - CORRECTION: $24.82 delivered ($30 voucher has $99 minimum spend) :(

And sorry for any panic buying yesterday, but this actually ends on Wednesday:

As alluded to in the chardonnay thread, "FWC" is a newish member-only website like Cellar One, though in this case, related to a major distributor/wholesaler/importer. Not only are all their wines discounted by at least 20%, but they are also offering an extra $50 off for spending $250 or more. I've listed some of the well-reviewed/rated ones below - pm me for an invite, though there are no referral benefits:
  • Quartz Reef Blanc de Blanc 2013 $72
  • Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV $65
  • Champagne Duval-Leroy Fleur de Champagne Brut Premier Cru NV $61
  • Shaw + Smith M3 Chardonnay 2016 $42
  • Dog Point Chardonnay 2016 $31.50
  • Giant Steps Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2018 $26
  • Willow Bridge Estate G1-10 Chardonnay 2017 $26

Dan's aren't out of stock - try a different location/store - however, given that Gary Walsh has now rated it 95pts on Winefront, the equal highest of any Xanadu cabernet (2013 Stevens Road, 2011 Reserve, 2009 Stevens Road were all 95pts; previous highest for the standard was 2009's 94pts ), it probably won't be too much longer until it is :)

Cheers. Changed location an voila. 6 bottles ordered.
Cheers

This has my interest, anyone tried it before. Price and Vivino score would indicate a bargain. Shopback has 10% off, DM usually uses full price for cashback. Would come back at around $9 a bottle?? Would 2011 be getting a bit risky for Malbec age wise?

Is it just me or is the gift card payment option currently not available from the DM's site?

I can see credit card and paypal options only.

Cortrect Gift Cards not currently working
FYI: Got this from Facebook:

'Hi DrRalph, thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately we have turned the gift payment option off temporarity online. However if you have a gift card you would like to redeem, it can still be used in store

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Cheers, Sarah'

Seems convenient that shopback have 10% off and they turn off gift card payments.

UPDATE:
'We don't have an ETA for when gift card payments will be back online

Ah huh - I bought 2 doz of the Malbec that chonka posted above - comes out to $6.60/bott after SB 10% without GC - will be an interesting exercise to receive and taste.

Hi all...my first post! So apologies if this is already known to all but I wanted to share that Vintage Cellars is currently selling a bundle of 5 bottles of Wynn's Black Label Cab Sav (vintage: 2016) and a bottle of Wynn's John Riddoch Cab Sav for $160.

Cheers

Is this on their website or somewhere? I can't find anything. What vintage of the JR?

Jeez you certainly got my interest as well! That is a bonkers price for a wine of that RRP, I had a bit of a dig around and came up with the page on DM that shows the supplier's listed offers, it makes very interesting reading: https://www.danmurphys.com.au/search?searchTerm=2000003212 It seems like they are selling out of quite a number of wines not all of which are getting long in the tooth. I've only used CR for cashback deals so must have a look at Shopback. BTW I can't believe that eight years of bottle age would impact on a decent Malbec all that much but then I'm more familiar with local drops....

EDIT: I just jumped in for a couple of cases, if it's barely average I'll give it away;)

The offer is not online or on their website. Only available in store. I got mine at the Brighton store. I suggest you call the store to reserve you a bundle. Brighton store had a strict one bundle per customer policy but not sure about the rest. As for the JR it depends on what the store has available. I think I got the 2015.

Canberra/Manuka Vintage Cellars got those Wynns bundle cleared out this morning, more stock arriving tomorrow arvo.

Plenty of time to buy this bundle, it runs for a month IIRC.

I grabbed a dozen too...hope it's worth it. interesting they had another wine on their clearance pages, a Freeman & Lane Mt Lofty merlot with 4.2 on vivino from $30 to ~ $8 per bottle. Never heard of it...

With 10% SB and GC, any of those Freeman & Lane wines would come back at $4.84 a bottle, almost tempted to try a few of them too.

This is advertised on the bit of paper with your postal address that comes with the latest Cellar Press. I ducked down to Shenton Park VC. The JR was the 2012. They only has two bottles of the '16 BL but happily accepted three bottles of the '15 for the same price.

A friend went to the Mt Lawley VC where they were a little unsure about the deal. Turns out they were all out of the '16 BL there. After some enquiries there seems to be a general shortage with stock being replenished next week. There they had the 12, 14 and 15 JR. Apparently they have no idea which vintage is meant to go with the deal.
