Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Canberra/Manuka Vintage Cellars got those Wynns bundle cleared out this morning, more stock arriving tomorrow arvo.

Plenty of time to buy this bundle, it runs for a month IIRC.
It is one bundle per person right? Didn't realise word would get around so quick in ACT. I am planning to go there this morning. Here's to hoping they got their stock in yesterday!

Ha, ha, my Forum has some members in ACT, they've been all over this.

Also some are doing a "price match' at Dan Murphy's (all around Aus), successfully in many cases.

DM price match success reported at Toorak (Melb), Wagga Wagga, knocked back in Townsville.
And knocked back at Parkdale now also when I presented in store - advised if I bring pic of ’advertised’ offer and a copy of receipt then no probs they will match any amount of ‘packs’ I want.

Spoke to the guy at our local vintage and they said it was an error in their newsletter that they had to honour. The JR was 2015 and rated 98 by HH. They were willing to sell more than 1 bundle per customer too. Location Mosman Sydney

Cellarmasters have Fisell 2015 (rated 95pts by Jeremy Oliver) @ $180 for a 6 pack. Less $50 voucher, CR or CB, and WW gift, should be under $19 each if rewards get paid.
Also DM have Watershed Awakening Cab for $35.10 in any 6 or $36.88 ea. They have the 2009 and 2011, so better to walk in for this one as the 2011 is the pick. It's a lovely wine, perhaps a little too big for my preference with cabs, but very good.

$19 is closer to the mark for Filsel. Better than the silly prices people were paying earlier in the year.

FYI if you buy the Entertainment Book a $50 Cellarmasters voucher is being emailed to you. And like with previous vouchers you just need one if them to be able to use it potentially dozens of times.

I paid just a smidgen over $20 for my ‘15 Fillsel - been looking for the ‘16 - keen to hear if anyone sees it at $20 or less

If history is any guide, expect to see the current vintage dumped in the next two months (assuming there's anything left to dump). I think this has already started. Prices usually heavily discounted. $15 is my target price.

Of course everyone has a price point that they are happy with. I just wouldn't be happy paying more than $20 for a wine that I know I could get for $15. Every dollar is important when buying wine :)

Same with the current Wynns/Riddoch deal or Penfolds BIN 389. For me the $160 is just a fair price for Wynns/Riddoch. The black label can normally be had sub $20 and it doesn't take much looking to get the Riddoch for $60. So 5 x $20 + 1 x $60 is about the right price. Not good enough for me to buy, given I have already purchased enough of those wines at that price point already. And BIN 389 is available sub $50 once or twice a year if you stack the discounts.

‘13 @ $14.95, ‘15 @$15.35, ‘16 @ $20.14, looking for ‘16 when it comes around.

Not overly impressed with the ‘13 I’ve tried, but I think it was a bad year for Filsell

Check the thread is my advice :)

I and other members do post great deals. All you have to do is take a look. Here, for example, is Wynns Black Label for under $20 in the last 12 months:

This is not an isolated example.
