Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Finally got to try one of my three bottles. I think it is a nice wine with one issue that makes me glad I did not get anymore. First, the premium, heavy bottle, is accompanied by a 55mm cork that seemed a bit loose and easy to extract. The wine shows very nice secondary characteristics after airing, cedar and spice, both on the nose and palate, and the tannins are exquisite. This would have been a superb wine except for the acidic finish, which is overly sour and reminds me of green snakes and warheads.

It's back but i am in no hurry to get any more given how quickly it fell over the next day.

couldnt think of any where else to put this, but years ago I used to buy heaps of booze from dans,

got a call from head office of an offer of 2015 clarendon hills astralis shiraz, for $350,

apparently it retails for $400 and it got voted 100 pts bla bla bal and limited to me cos Im special bla bla bla

is this a screaming bargain or good investment,

thinking about buying a few to drink and to cellar?

Seems like a lot of Clarendon Hills stuff is being cleared out at the moment. The $80 for $20 ones might be better value...

I got a call from them as well offered Larry Cherubino Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 for A$35/bottle, and 2015 clarendon hills astralis shiraz, for $350. Do not believe it is a great deal!

oh, so im not that special then !?!?!;);)

their sales pitch was 9000 bottles produced, 100pts ratings, even the clarendon hills themselves were selling it for $400 on their webpage, and at $350 its a steal!

i saw langtons selling it for $400 as well,
so thought it might have been a screaming bargain or even a good investment

So $50 off from $400 a bottle ? How’s that a bargain? Am I missing something here?

id consider it a baragin if it was going to sell out quickly or increase in value straight away,

obviously not the deal of a lifetime,

$150 would be a screaming bargain!

This brand is more known overseas than here as I was told, not a wine that would rise up in price regularly as the current price already too high.

Anyone tried this wine before? Your views on this deal?

Hi gxia

By shear chance I had one last night. Very smooth flavour profile , well balanced and quite enjoyable.
I find it the flavour a bit muted by a little too much alcohol heat. I have 6 and won’t be buying anymore but pretty reasonable buying at $15 after the usual discounts.

It is almost certainly the Artisan.
They must have made heaps, it started out on Vinomofo @ $19.90 in October 2017, then $18 in December 2017, then Winestar at $18 (April and September 2018) and now DM at $18. I bought a dozen from VM at $18, my quaffer pack friends love it, I think it's a good wine and a decent deal at $18 less the usual CR etc.
Of course over that period there could be the possibility of different batches/bottlings.

I and my quaffer-pack friends (and favourite local Thai chef) like this a lot, plenty of flavour and good body/balance without being too tannic, not in the hunt for $60, good value at $15-$18.

Thank you all sharing your experiences. Much appreciated.

I found the price of one wine in a particular dm store is lower than other stores, but the quantity only has one. If I choose delivery I may order more at that price. but when I checkout it says the address is not in that store range, not able to deliver.
I called dm, they said you only can pick up in store.
Is it any other ways I can order online and get that price?

if I change to delivery, the price will be updated to a normal price.
