Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

the only wine i've tried on that pack is theSchwarz Wine Co Barossa Valley Shiraz 2017
Good recent prices on the Old Faithful range of wines at Grays.

I've been following auctions featuring this range of wines on Gray's for a few days now. Prices have been very good in my view.

I've purchased the following for around $11 a bottle (including all of the ridiculous add on charges from Grays) in the past week. That's over 75% off what the RRP is:

The Old Faithful Sandhill Grenache 2006
The Old Faithful Northern Exposure Grenache 2006
The Old Faithful Almond Grove Mouvedre 2005
The Old Faithful Café Block Shiraz 2011

More auctions featuring these items are coming up.

Obviously you need to watch the prices, but the The Old Faithful Almond Grove Mouvedre 2005 is around $10.34 a bottle with around 90 mins to go in the auction:

from the same auction the bin 9 went over $40 a bottle, they were on grays when it first release, end up just over $10 a bottle at the end.

I had the Hewiston Private Cellar Shiraz Mataro 2008 couple of weeks ago and it was very nice but wouldn’t price anywhere close to DM valuation.
It is good. It regularly goes at Grays on auction for around $50. I've bought 20 or so bottles over the past 5 years, including direct from the cellar door, and never paid more than $60 a bottle. From memory Vinomofo also had this at one time for a good price. So the $150 price indicated by Dan's is fanciful.

Curious if anyone has any idea on this 2014 Mclaren Vale Grenache $14.90 secret selection down from $59.99

I'm thinking maybe Clarendon Grenache 2014? Any tips would be highly appreciated!
Probably the Clarendon Hills. Have a check through this thread, earlier this year Dan's were dumping a lot of Clarendon Hill's wine and if I recall correctly the grenache was among those dumped.

That's what I'm thinking. The previous price for Clarendon was also $14.90. I thoroughly enjoyed, plus with the high discount SB/CR should track high as normal. Might give it a go and report back.

Cheers

Edit* going back through this forum (18/6, post 12,048) confirmed the Clarendon Hills 2013 Grenache, this uses the same 'secret' link.

Went looking for more details on this:
To see if it was worthwhile.

Someone bought 64 Cases for $1979 + add ons from grays earlier this year. (around $3 a bottle all up)

Want to lay odds on S.C. from Bell Park in VIC being associated with woolworths?

Looks like we need to team up in future 🤔 I could handle a dozen cases...
