Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I've found the under $30 price on Teusner MC Sparkling Shiraz 2010 still available when I set my store to Tuggeranong, ACT, but the prices goes up a lot when I ask to ship to my northern ACT address and pickup is not available.

I've created a Parcel Collect address at a local Post Office with the same post code as the Tuggeranong store and DM online allowed me to enter it manually, but I'm not game to complete the order.

Has anyone tried this workaround?

Well, this strategy is working out quite well.
I've had 2 orders delivered to my Parcel Collect address so far, both sent by Aus Post and one more on the way via Aus Post.
12x Teusner MC Sparkling Shiraz 2010 @ $28.78pb
12x Glaetzer Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet 2017 @ $19.81pb (a half-price mistake that lasted not long after my order).
6x Seppelt Show Reserve Sparkling Shiraz 2008 @ $57.78 in transit.

Unfortunately I get that message with standard delivery selected :(
It must have actually sold out then. I was getting the same message about an hour ago, but it worked when I changed over to standard delivery.

I've been getting multiple emails a day suggesting that the case is in my cart and that they're holding onto them for me. I have sent an email to Dan's to clarify, but pretty disappointed with the whole thing.

Can you redirect it to your northern address after dispatch? Or are you driving south to collect it from the PO?

There doesn't seem to be a re-direct option for Parcel Collect deliveries.
Happy to drive and collect for the deals so far, well worth the fuel etc. cost.
I may never use it again after this flurry of orders, unless the Tuggeranong pricing aberration continues on other wines I'm interested in.
The Teusner MC was shipped from Phillip DM, a store closer to me, but their price was $47.50 online, the Anaperenna from Hurstville and the Seppelt SRSS from Prahan, both of which list higher prices online.
I've given up trying to work out any logical reason that the DM system is implemented the way it is, but I'll continue to play the game while I am still winning.

Slighty OT, but happy to report that Australia Post delivered my dozen at 07.30 on a predicted 36 degree day and left it fully shaded, just in case I DIDN'T see it walking to my car....

Shopback deal for Cellarmasters - 18% cashback and 30% off with code SHOPBACK

based on some previous posts - use gift cards at your own risk. I also took a screen shot of the code used!

Cashrewards offer might suit smaller purchases better at Cellarmasters
"Spend $220 and get $100 off + free delivery" + 15% cashback
Agreed, $100 off is better for any purchases under $333
Better chance of getting your cashback with cashrewards as well imo

Penfolds 389 2017 twin pack at $200 plus x2 gift bags should bring the total down to $76 after GC assuming cashback tracks full price.

Cash back tracked at discounted price (ex GST) for me.

Report on ozbargain that it tracked on discounted price (ex GST) less Cellarmasters gift card.

YMMV.

Only Penfolds I can see on the Cellarmasters website is RWT twin pack.

Also note on the cashback website:

'Free delivery with code: CASHREWARDS. Excludes Champagne and Penfolds. '

These terms appear to be being enforced more frequently now.

I'd suggest caution. The good old days appear top be over for cash back and shop back.

Code worked fine for 389, still waiting for cashback email.

Good luck.

You'd be aware that we've seen plenty of transactions initially track at a certain level and then be clawed back weeks later. If clawed back you'll have no recourse if the terms excluded the purchase and penfolds is definitely excluded.

As repeated posts over the last couple of weeks have indicated, things have changed significantly with both shop back and cash rewards.

Just got the RWT twin pack with Shopback. If it tracks, should work out to $118.07 a bottle. Interesting the code works as both Shopback and Cashrewards state "Excludes Champagne and Penfolds "

Thankfully the discount code works - they may struggle to claw that one back. Will be interesting to see where it lands

Be aware of the following terms from Shop back:

"Tips to ensure Cashback
To ensure your Cashback is successful:
  • Clickthrough ShopBack again if there's any error
  • Read Other Terms and Conditions below
  • Use only promo codes from ShopBack
  • Please note the use of Adblock software may affect your Cashback claim. If installed, please disable your ad blocking software entirely during your shopping sessions.
Cashback is not qualified for:
  • Promo codes or voucher codes not approved by ShopBack
  • Gift card purchases unless otherwise stated
  • Returns, exchanges & cancellations
  • Store app bookings
  • Cashback not payable when used in conjunction with payment by Groupon Cellarmasters vouchers or other third party promotional vouchers."
Several of these terms indicate that the cash back will not be awarded. Whether the code works or not is not connected to whether the cash back will work or not. As I've indicated these terms are now being enforced and used to deny claims. It's now a very risky proposition. Too risky for me.
