Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

This is a small family business in the Riverland, South Australia. I tasted their Syrah at the food and wine show in Adelaide at the start of the year and bought a couple bottles. They only produce Syrah and it’s a great easy everyday drinker. It’s on special ATM. $34 down to $25.

MWG has a 2017 mystery cab sav for $30 which I'm pretty sure is Thorn-Clarke William Randell (96pt JH and 4.4 on Vivino)

confirmed

No matter, I found a nice way to blow my cash... old Clarendon with, if it's the same config as last time Clarendon did this, a bottle of Astralis...
"Deeply recessed layers of smokey bacon fat and blueberry mingle with cigar tobacco, subtle Asian spices and lavender in what is a very delicate yet an unusually approachable palate style..."

This is the Clarendon Hills. There was a bad vintage reported extensively on AFF. But I cannot recall exactly which one that was - but probably not the 2012 CS.

I ordered 4 cases of this earlier today. I make it around $11.80 a bottle delivered with the usual discounts.
Mine turned up today and it's so good to be able to open a bottle on the day of delivery knowing it's in it's prime. Very tasty, I handed the glass to my 17yo daughter who knows nothing about wine, and asked her to have a sniff. She looked up with a surprise on her face and said : "liquorice?"
Very sad they are sold out, I only ordered 4 bottles. Expecting the Thompson to arrive tomorrow.
