Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Just burned off my Coldstream Hills birthday voucher on the Reserve Trio, consisting of a reserve shiraz, cab sav and chardonnay for $100 less $25 (less $20 if you use the Welcome code).
Nice. How did you find that? Can't see it coming up unless I search for it.

And my other community would complain that I waited too long to share it. Can't please everyone. It's only a bottle of wine.
It's not though is it.
The sort of traffic ozbargain will likely drive is enough to draw the kind of attention that could result in website changes across all TWE websites and vouchers no longer working on single bottle purchases. So rather than one deal, There's real potential for all future TWE vouchers to be affected.

Over 3k clicks now and a nick change too. "TheWineFamily"

....and it has made its way to another forum:
Sorry, just got off the phone with the Sydney Morning Herald. They wanted a scoop for a breaking news bulletin with the deal.

OzB certainly feels more like a family than this place. Notice how everyone there says 'thanks'.

I suspect we're likely to see more deals from TWE. They are heavily invested in China and have been suffering this year:
"Treasury Wine Estate's dream of cashing in on China's emerging middle class quaffers is suddenly looking a little nightmarish. "
"The Penfold brand's popularity in China would have delivered 85 per cent of TWE's profit growth over the next three years"

Cap Curt, how much 2012 shiraz do you reckon they have?
Hopefully more than they've sold.

@CaptainCurtis I think the issue is the risk vs reward of posting on OzB.

I’m not sure what the incentive is for you, outside of likes. Is there a referral/monetary incentive for you? Genuine question. I’m not having a serious crack here, I’m just keen to know the mindset.

From my perspective if there’s no incentive outside of likes, wouldn’t it be better to tell family/close friends, thereby ensuring all those that matter to you know about the offer, whilst limiting the chance of deals being taken down?

AFF has no private forums and no requirements for posters to keep quiet about the deals they find here.

There is no issue with a member taking a deal and posting about it elsewhere. It happens all the time. On many websites.

This is one of the reasons we encourage members to avoid posting single use codes, as they can be taken by guests without even a thanks.

Further off topic discussion of the merits of doing so could result in warnings and post deletions.

OzB do not have a referral arrangement set-up with Wynns, nor do I believe Wynns even offer a referral program. As mentioned, I have benefitted from 100's of deals on OzBargain, so I wanted to return the favour while still giving those here sufficient time to take advantage of the deal.

I think what we're aiming to do is preserve a culture that this forum has established. If there are actions taken that may undermine this culture, it's natural that members would be concerned by this.

The information shared here is not ours to own, but if you use this space, participate in this space, you should also be mindful of the group norms we're looking to maintain as that is what makes this such a valued community and we don't wish that to diminished.

Sharing across forums dilutes the culture and capital a single forum has.

Anyway what’s done is done. Can I selfishly suggest we keep the other TWE deals discussed in recent days under our hats until orders are fulfilled?

Even if Wynns falls through, I’d hope the others are unaffected.
Agree - if we post everything on here on OB straight away then this forum is pointless in my opinion - At least give it a few business days to pass to ensure it is honoured first for those on here before passing to OB. Let’s see if Wynns honours but be good in future if we try and keep the lid on things a little longer than 2 days over a weekend. Let’s also not be harsh in our commentS either - if they don’t honour, mistakes happen and let’s learn from it

Hi al
I’ve been watching this forum for some time from the wings and love it.
I have truly benefitted from some of the tips and deals listed.
move often wanted to comment or let you know what vintages I recurved etc and so it was time to register.
So a big thank you for all the tips and deals that have been listed.
Truly appreciated even if the Wynns orders don’t get fulfilled. 😂🤣😂

As posted before and highlighted below, further off topic discussion could have been deleted. I do not find these two posts negative and actually quite constructive, but might I suggest that if you want to have a discussion on the merits (or otherwise) of sharing deals beyond AFF that a new thread is started (the wine deals forum seems appropriate) so that this thread does not go off topic from those sharing deals, and those thanking others for those deals.

Thank you in advance.

This is excellent moderation, thank you for letting this discussion run as it's very affirming for this excellent forum.

But teehee - I can't wait to sign up to the 'what should be ok to post on the Dan Murphy's deals forum forum'. That's gonna be a hum dinger!!
