Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I don't think what you've done is wrong but in my opinion it's not quite in the spirit of these types of forums. If it was your original find then sure by all means post it anywhere and everywhere. This forum is excellent and there have been some amazing deals but I think if deals start appearing on Ozbargain the next day, a number of contributors here may pause and maybe not post that great deal they were going to.

I don't think it's entitlement as someone else mentioned but more a fact that we should have an edge on Joe Bloggs if we're spending time and contributing and following these wine specific forums religiously. Tell your friends and family if you must but don't post it on one of the 50 most visited websites in Australia.
Agreed. Avoid ozbargain - I had a day out today and now some codes aren't working. Its disappointing..

Agree with this redmaxo, problem is now the op has splashed aff as the source all over the ozbargain post. What a great move 🤦‍♂️

Geez I thought I was a bit geed up until I saw some chaps having a go at our member of the month on OzB.

Elsewhere, that Penfolds deal look to be doomed as well. The other bloke have also attributed the source of the deal and 6000+ views there. Some even acknowledged creating multiple accounts for cheap Bin 28. Plenty of publicity for AFF over the weekend 👍

Thinking about it logically, if I were running Wynns and I came into work on Monday morning with 5,000+ single bottle orders to pack and ship individually and I only had a couple of warehouse staff I would just cancel everything. The logistics wouldn't be worth the hassle for $11 per bottle (less shipping costs).

Some you Wynn, some you lose.

On the one hand it was their own promotion and you didn't have to do anything underhanded to get the deal (other than some people using multiple accounts, etc which you can partially weed out from shipping addresses).

Suspect single bottle orders with free shipping wasn't thought through when this started - shipping thousands of single bottles in a reasonable time would almost be impossible regardless of stock levels.

Someone post it on OB again. 23mins ago.
Hmmm... perhaps we'd best quickly set up a thread somewhere else and put the deal on then repost on OB repeatedly in order to dilute this?

I love this goose and all its golden eggs. Let's look after it!!

Black Label Shiraz 2012 no longer shown on the Wynns website. It was available last night. Remains to be seen what happens

The Wolf Blass deal appears to have originated on OzB, but many here benefitted from it. The good comes with the bad. Overall, most here would be ahead. Drop the entitlement and wait for the next deal.

Na, credits to boomy on the WB deal for the initial glitch the night before OzB. And closely followed by ghinx for the $114 deal. Good times 😁 I'd love to take credit, but I was to busy securing egift cards and buying WB to share immediately 🙄

Is there any option to hide threads or forums from non-registered members? I know plenty of forums do it for certain areas.

Agreed. Really disappointing.
