You are more experienced and informed than most, hence better choices by you.I must be doing something wrong, I keep (or mostly put in quaffer packs for happy friends) about 90% of what I buy there.

Years ago I swore to never buy from them again - and I do have a nephew in there working the phones - guess I suffered ‘Covid Breakdown’ on this occasionI would not say all but certainly about 70% are woeful.
Possibly, the last of these I bought of these was the 2006 then 2010 vintages, 2010 @ $45 and a very good wine. IMO the quality has declined in recent times since it became a Woolworths exclusive line. I'd probably go for the 2009 if you have a choice.Has anyone tried Balthazar of the Barossa Shiraz. DM near me have 2008 and 2009 at $25. Value?
Oh well, at least you can send back thanks to good ole VM policy. Sadly I'm finding my 2010 Clarendon Hills Hickinbotham Syrah to be nice but a bit meh. Tasted it over three hours and then the next day just to be sure. Very disappointing given how much I was looking forward to it and having paid $50/btl (half price) for the case. And vivino is replete with good reviews for it! Not sure what's going on... Also not sure another five years in the cellar will improve it but that's probs what I'll do. Anyhoo, had it been VM and not Langton's I would have had options...Obviously everybody's tastes differ - but IMHO it's just a very ordinary wine - it is not unpleasant to drink - it has little nose, little to no intensity and no finish - just a nothing wine. YES I know way young but I aint waiting years to discover it's failings - back it goes.

Thanks Redbigot. Appreciate the info. I bought one of each out of curiosity. I saw the 2008 first at one store but couldn’t find a lot of detail about it. Dans happily matched the 2009 special price of $25. Then saw the 2009 at another store. After some further investigations it seems like your right the 2009 will be the pick.Possibly, the last of these I bought of these was the 2006 then 2010 vintages, 2010 @ $45 and a very good wine. And VM look to have the Shadowfax Pinot for $17 pb, only in dozens. Decisions, decisions...Bocaccio Cellars have 2019 Balgownie Estate Single Vineyard Pinot for $12 per bottle in cleanskins. Seems like a reasonable deal, anyone tried it? I’m assuming it’s not the black label based on the description.
eBay sells it at $16, dozen is too much for me, 4 btls will be enough for me.And VM look to have the Shadowfax Pinot for $17 pb, only in dozens. Decisions, decisions...

I think you're right. I was sure it was $34 down to $17, but must have misread it. Alcohol is way out too. This one? Pinot Noir 2017 – Black Market Deal #36076
Shadowfax or Hanging Rock? Shadowfax 5 red stars, Hanging Rock 5 black stars. More cult than Shadowfax? None of the options exactly match all VM info.
