Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that it is similar to Grange - was just reading that 2014 vintage came third in the past World’s Greatest Shiraz’ challenge with Grange topping the ladder.

All good, I recall similar articles a few years ago, which prompted me to locate a bottle. Maybe the bottle I had was not a great vintage, but we found it very polarising and boozy. So heavy and chewy, no one at the table could drink it. This is coming from a predominantly pinot noir drinker BTW.

There is 20% cashback at First Choice via Shopback. $25 cap today 12m to 4pm.

Looking to buy Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz that supposedly rivals Grange. The cashback should bring the price to about $45

On FC website it states that it is 2014 vintage, but the current vintage is 2018 (which is not the greatest according to the reviews).

Would anyone know as how accurate they are with their descriptions?

EDIT: The have a disclaimer: * Wine vintages can vary when delivered or collected from your chosen Click & Collect store.
Blue Eyed Boy good value at $25.

Anyone know what the JD Secret Wine # 243 is?

Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay 2017

Today’s JD Secret Wine is Tuerong Park Mornington Pinot Noir 2019

I can't seem to find this anywhere in Vic FC. Not available for delivery as well.

Just received my Clarendon Hills Brookman Clarendon Merlot that DM sells under Wraps here
Interestingly enough even though I ordered 12 bottles of 2012 - I have received 6 of 2012 and 6 of 2014 with slightly different labels.

Originally I bought a couple to try for $13. Then when I wanted to buy more (after I sampled it), the price gone back up to $72. So when I saw the price back down to $20 I got 12 more.

Still think it is a great buy at $20 - seems no longer available to be delivered my address but maybe available to some others

Yes, but how do you get it at that price?
Today? You can't. You'd have to wait until it's offered at that price again. And it will be.

I'd strongly suggest you follow this forum. $25 is not uncommon for this wine and $30 to $32 comes up regularly.

I wouldn't pay $45 when I know it's been available in the last 12 months for a lot less. But if you want it today you'll have to pay the asking price.

Worlds greatest Shiraz/Syrah challenge and all top 10 are Aussie wines, three of them from Saltram... I hope you don’t take these kind of articles seriously, they are no more than paid advertisements.

It was more just out of curiosity and I enjoyed Mollydooker The Boxer Shiraz in the past.
How Would London Wine Competition stack up? I have never regretted purchasing Kellermeister Wild Witch Barossa Shiraz after it won in 2019

It's Richard Hamilton Farm Twelve Mourvédre 2017. Because it matches Gold - 2019 Royal Melbourne Wine Awards, Chapel Hill doesn't. I like Richard Hamilton.
Confirm that - just received it (ordered a mix bag of underwraps from DM). Haven't tried it yet!

Interestingly, received 2017 vintage. Surprising for a relatively new retailer, hope I wasn't sold a dud vintage! (no review on winefront for the 2017)
Edit: the winery suggests the 2017 was an exceptional vintage
Mine is the 2017 as well. I am enjoying a bottle tonight.

Some straw on the nose and not too overbearing on the palate. It does follow through just nicely. I would describe this as a classic Eden Valley Riesling. IMHO.

Thank you to the OP for pointing it out. I am very happy.

Yes, we are very happy too. My partner and I actually prefer this to the Julius. Just our personal preference though...

Guess I might hope on the Peggy Hill band wagon - 'bestbud' works out a tad cheaper, though for some reason you need 5 + 5 bottles to get it to trigger (10% off + free ship).

Went with 4x Peggy Hill, 2x HRB Chard and 2x Rob Oatley GSM for circa $90. Pretty good as gifts or just general quaffers, not sure about the GSM but presume it is easy drinking and cheaper than Sippery.

I went for the more “premium” option of 8x Oakridge Local Vineyard Series Willowlake Pinot Noir for $17.5 p/bottle after all discounts. Decent every day drinking PN is always popular in our home.

My friend picked up the Oakridge, keen to give it a taste - have struggled to find good value prop pinots (stonier jimjoca was the previous go to).
