There is another Penfolds deal that I saw on Qantas site that maybe of use to somebody

A free Bin 389 - would imply Bin 28 price of $32.50 (I assume $75 for Bin 389)

I agree with above - Penfolds are generally overpriced but it is what it is.

Hi guys, just wondering has anyone tried https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_413337/angove-the-medhyk-old-vine-shiraz-2016 ?

Dan has them as a secret deal for $30 down from $65-$70. This particular one says "old vine" as opposed to others and seem to have a different bottle shape. So thinking maybe it is a one off.
I had one back in Dec and it was not bad, it's probably worth the $30 but I wouldn't pay more for it nor would I say it's a bargain. I am not good as describing the palate but it's not as long as I liked and less fruity compared to something like Frank Ernest, the highlight to me was the nose it was deep and complex.

My local bottle shop has Bin 28 for $28 every day

Not necessarily, unless you’re after the icons like Bin 95, 707 ect it’s very much possible to find Penfolds at reasonable prices. It does require patience and quick hoarding when sales come up but the reward is drinking some excellent wines at 10 years ago prices :)
