Colonial Estate label (not the vineyards AFIK) was bought by GWD when the original company went bust about 10 years or so ago, so they are made for/by/exclusive to GWD and associates. Same for Normans, Songlines, and Gnadenfrei Estate more recently, probably some others. The wines are not sourced from the same vineyards as the originals, Gnadenfrei vineyards were bought by Torbreck.I enjoy colonial wines - get wines direct are very hit and miss though. Colonial estate "The Entrepreneur". I'm assuming 2016 but cannot confirm. Priced at $30, sells elsewhere for $60. Probably not the best wine deal around but I'll share for anyone else. I gave it a shot - will return if I'm not amazed!
They require a code - try 36279 (change the 2 or 6 if that doesn't work)

For various personal historical reasons I never buy from GWD.
The originals, 2008, 2009 Emigre and Exile were great, big alcohol, jammy beasts. I've got 2 bottle left from way back when they were at $30 reduced from $200+ and have enjoyed every oneColonial Estate label (not the vineyards AFIK) was bought by GWD when the original company went bust about 10 years or so ago, so they are made for/by/exclusive to GWD and associates. I don't want to go into details, but I have a carefully archived long and bizarre email exchange with Tony Sells (great name for a wine flogger) from back in 2011, starting from something I posted on my site. I have not bought there since.I understand your take on this RB, Normans many years ago used to produce really approachable decent reds that hit the mark very well but having tried the odd one via friends (who bizarrely insist on buying exclusively from GWD) they have lost their mojo IMHO. I'm intrigued by your parting comment regarding not buying from them, is it too personal to relate?
That's fine, I wasn't prying but curious as I have had a similar exchange with Winestar's owner a number of years ago which completely soured any future relationship, their credo states: "We pride ourselves on our customer service with prompt and quality communication with our valued clientele." my experience was of a belligerent and decidedly unpleasant approach by the owner hardly in tune with this...I don't want to go into details, but I have a carefully archived long and bizarre email exchange with Tony Sells (great name for a wine flogger) from back in 2011, starting from something I posted on my site. I was around when Bert was starting up Winestar, he spent a lot of time fostering relationships with his customers, organising wine dinners etc. and started a Forum which was pretty successful until it became elitist and eventually he got big enough and lost interest in that, now defunct. I haven't bought there for a long time, but not from any animosity for Bert, he has free membership of my Forum and he or associates visit there quite regularly. That's fine, I wasn't prying but curious as I have had a similar exchange with Winestar's owner a number of years ago which completely soured any future relationship, their credo states: "We pride ourselves on our customer service with prompt and quality communication with our valued clientele." my experience was of a belligerent and decidedly unpleasant approach by the owner hardly in tune with this...
I was going to say that it would pair well with the McLaren Vale mixed pack, but it has sold out...
